Greetings!

It is important to recognize that our service, "passion" and even "ministry" doesn't have to be something that happens only in the confines or activities of the church.

We all need to learn how we can become more "externally focused" and take advantage of serving opportunities in our neighborhood and in our communities.

"Dear God, I may not have excellent speech or be as educated or wise as some people, but this one thing I know, that Jesus Christ gave Himself as a sacrifice for my sin and has risen to sit at Your right hand, so that I may receive Your forgiveness, a new life, and eternal life with You.

"Though I may be weak and fearful at times, I can be strong through the power of Your Spirit. God, please speak through me and live through me that I might touch the lives and hearts of the people I come in contact with each day. May You be glorified. In Jesus' name, amen."

OUR INFLUENCE 24/7
We tend to separate our "church persona" from our secular life.  On Sundays we put on our spiritual robes, and on Mondays through Saturdays, we wear our secular clothes, so to speak.

However, this must not be the case because in everything that we do, we personify Christ who dwells in us through the Holy Spirit.

As we interact with our family, friends, neighbors, customers, business partners and everyone else with whom we do business during the week, let us remember that we showcase to our community what Jesus' love does for us. Let us "preach and teach" the value of our church in our community, not just doing outreach in the community.

Let's think of ways that our gifts could be used in our community and discover new places to use our passion in organizations that touch lives beyond our church.  This will change the way we lead and equip others.

OUR SHARED VALUES

Our Transforming Impact on Society

"
We will prepare believers and future generations for leading, influencing, and working with other groups and all sectors of society in transforming their community, society and nation for the common good of humanity and to the glory of God."

(This is the tenth and last listed of "Our Shared Values" as printed in the Gospel Life pamphlet "Vision 21: Journey to Divine Destiny." We have brought them up to your attention almost weekly as a reminder of Gospel Life's on-going mission and vision for all of us.)

THE LION'S DEN SCHOOL

We need all those planning to attend this summer's School of the Supernatural to obtain and fill out an application form and to submit them as soon as possible.

The forms are available at the church foyer.  Please be sure to get the two separately stapled sheets on either side of the credenza as they contain related information regarding the school.  Recommendation forms are included in one of the stapled sheets.

More detailed information is available through the website:  www.thelionsdenschool.com.

EARTHQUAKE/EMERGENCY KITS

Please be prepared to participate in a fund-raising project that will benefit our Worship Ministry.  Emergency/earthquake kits will be displayed after church at the portico for you to see and decide which one(s) you will order, for yourself, your family members, and even for your friends and neighbors, or at least pass the information along to them.

Several different kits and emergency tools are available for personal use, for your home, school, office or vehicle.  Prices are quite affordable.

Our campaign will go for a couple of weeks through the end of May and you can expect delivery within a couple of weeks thereafter. This is a good gift idea for Father's Day, also for birthdays, and other occasions.

PASTORS' CONFERENCE
The Pastors' Conference will convene tomorrow, May 12, at the Irawan Church campus in Palawan.  Our lead ministers Pastor John and Jessie Tulio will be there to lead out in the conference.  Pastors Hansel Orzame, Prom and Norma Amoguis, will also be there to teach and to assist in imparting spiritual knowledge to the attendees. Pastoral ordinations will take place later in the week.

A basketball clinic for high school students will also be held at the same time under the sponsorship of the Nothing To Lose Foundation.  Pastor Jon J Tulio will lead out in this clinic.

Your gifts have allowed these pastors and lay ministers from various Gospel Life churches in the Philippines to attend this conference. Board and lodging will also be provided for them.

MEDITATION

"Dear Heavenly Father, I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul. Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground (Psalm 143:8-10).

"Lord, you know me and you know my special needs. I trust you to meet those needs in the way that is best. You know what is in my heart and mind today. I pray that you will provide calmness and fill me with good thoughts and actions as I interact with the people around me. In the name of Jesus I pray and offer you praise. Amen."
