Greetings!

How does one share the gospel with another?  Where does one start, or how?

We all need power from the Holy Spirit to do that, without whom we will be left crawling in the dust.

"I want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection (Philippians 3:10). Lord, I do. I want to know You more. I want to praise You for the power of Your resurrection. I want to be a living testimony of the power of Your resurrection, the joy of Your presence, the miracle of your work in my life.

"Please use me to reach the spiritually lost and needy in this world, to point them to You so that they, too, may know You and the power of Your resurrection. Bless You, Lord. I love You. In Your name I pray and give thanks. Amen."

E-Mail from the Pastor's Wife

We received a follow-up e-mail from Jessie Tulio regarding their missionary trip to the Philippines (PHL). When they arrived there, they were shocked to see that everything was at a standstill because they got there during the Holy Week which is one of the most venerated holidays over there.

On their first Sunday there, they attended Pastor Prudy's church (he came to visit a few months ago) which met at a 4-cinema place at the Glorietta 4 Mall in Makati City.  The group of about 30 members are reported to be quite enthusiastic with the "Tipping Points" (the book/syllabus authored by Pastor John) and that they will share the Basic 10 study with their leaders.  Another meeting with this group will probably take place after their trip to Palawan.

Our missionaries will be heading for Palawan on Monday for the Pastors' Conference, scheduled for May 12 - 16.  The Nothing To Lose (N2L) Foundation under Pastor Jon J will also hold basketball clinics in Puerto Princesa City at the same time..

As reported in Monday's Newsletter, the group headed for Guimba, Nueva Ecija early last Sunday morning, after attending Dr. Harley Orzame's presidential induction (of the Souther California Filipino Dental Association) at the Hyatt Hotel in Manila on Saturday evening.

They had a convoy of three vans.  Pastor John and Jessie and the rest of the Tulio family were in one, The Tans (Dave, Zeny and company) were in another, and the Orzames (Harley, Rosalie, Hansel, Natalie) and Jessie Guo were in a third van.

While there, the whole group was housed at the Orzame "mansion".  They said they were "well fed and ate a lot of sweet, sweet mangoes, tupik, caimito, and even duhat!" (Not sure what the other fruits are called in English, except the "caimito" which we also call "star apple.")
DETAILS OF GUIMBA MEETING

Spirit Filled Meeting

Pastor John was the main speaker for the Sunday service.  The theme of his sermon revolved around the topic of Jesus' soon return, not because of the evil events happening now in the world, but because God's people are coming together and loving one another.

Jessie T. also writes that she saw the peoples' faces dry and hungry for spiritual and physical encouragement and supportA prayer and healing service followed.  Pastor Hansel explained to the people what they were about to do.  A prayer line was formed composed of Pastors Hansel, Jon J, Prom and Norma Amoguis, Jessie T., Natalie, and Jessie G. There was healing all over the place, thanks to God and the Holy Spirit!

Jessie G. is reported as "falling in love with the PHL and going for (more) missions." She was part of the healing ministry/prayer team and it was " a joy to see her do all these things."

A pastoral ordination service was also held for Pastor Joel who is their leader in Guimba.  The prophetic word was expressed over him by Pastors John, Hansel and Jon J.  Later that evening the church leaders gathered with them at the Orzame residence and it is evident, we are told, that their special need at this point is a larger physical facility for their church.  More than half the congregation was outside the church doors in the yard surrounding the church during the Sunday service.

That evening, at the end of the meeting, and before dinner, the church leaders at Guimba were again prayed for and given prophetic words.  The presence of the Holy Spirit was felt there.

A courtesy visit was made to the Mayor's office, as the mayor was Dr. Harley's friend.

They are now back at Green Hills/MetroManila where they feel so blessed staying at Sperry Anderson's condo which he gladly shared for them to use while they are there. They are asking for our prayers so that God will continue to reveal to them what they are there for, and to receive a clearer vision of His plan for the Greenhills/MetroManila area.

MARKETPLACE  MINISTRY

A New Kind of Army

"Proclaim this among the nations: Prepare for war! Rouse the warriors! Let all the fighting men draw near and attack. Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears" (Joel 3:9-10).

God is raising up a new kind of army in these last days. It is the remnant in the Body of Christ that has the greatest potential for societal transformation of any segment of society - men and women in the workplace. It is a remnant that has been largely silent.

Plowshares and pruning hooks are agricultural instruments that farmers use in their work. The prophet Joel says these very instruments will be used in the last days as weapons of war. However, it won't be a war against man and an enemy, but against the Kingdom of darkness.

As we enter the last days, men and women will begin to see their vocations as instruments to defeat the forces of evil and usher in the Kingdom of God. You will see Christ glorified in the marketplace like never before. You will see hundreds and thousands become part of a new harvest of souls in the "9 to 5 window", where many have yet to experience the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

What has to happen for your plowshare or pruning hook to be transformed into a weapon of love, designed to cut through the strongholds of unbelief and corruption in your workplace? You are a spiritual warrior in a worker's uniform.

God has called you to transform your view of yourself and your work. He desires to use you and your work life to impact your workplace, city and nation. Are you ready to beat your plowshare into a sword and your pruning hook into a spear?

NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER

May 5, 2010

Yes, tomorrow is Cinco de Mayo, an event celebrated by the Mexican population as a commemoration of the victory of a relatively small Mexican militia over the French army at the Battle of Puebla in 1862.  Some confuse this date with Mexico's Independence Day, which is actually September 16.

But more importantly, tomorrow is the National Day of Prayer. It is probably of significant importance especially in the light of recent world events such as the catastrophic disaster in Japan and the more recent extermination of Osama Bin Laden.

Rather than the exultation of so many regarding the perceived justice in the taking of one's life, we as Christians must reflect on the fact that human beings are all God's children, and that the power of choice is reflected in each individual life. That person, or any other person who dies, or is killed, also has parents, siblings and others who care deeply for them, (is it not?), who may or may not be followers of Christ.

"Prayer can make a difference not only in individual lives, but in the moral course of our country."

Help unleash the power of intercession by bringing millions of people before God's throne in humility and acceptance of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross.

"I will say to the Lord, He is my refuge and fortress, my God, in whom I trust."

Psalm 91:2.

MEDITATION

"Dear Lord, If tomorrow never comes on this earth, I pray that I will leave behind a testimony that points to You. Help me to live as if today were my last before entering eternity, for I know not what the day may bring.

"I pray that I will love others with a Godly love, that I will be kind and considerate, that I will share who You are and what You have done, that I will smile at those I see throughout the day, that I will remember and pray for others, that I will appreciate every little thing and have an attitude of gratitude, that I will be honest and responsible in all things.

"Thank you for blessing me and loving me and filling me with your spirit. Please feed my soul and give me strength this day. May You be glorified and my family be blessed. May I touch lives and sow seeds throughout the day. In the name of my Savior I pray, amen."
