Greetings!
| |
Jesus is alive! So the Resurrection Story tells us. That is what Easter is all about, and we had a wonderful service to celebrate Jesus' victory over death yesterday. Today, as we return to our daily routine let's be confident in entrusting ourselves to Him. "God, Your Word tells me to come to You and You will give me rest. I am heavy laden with challenges and concerns. I labor to make ends meet and to do all that I must do in a day's time. Please, bless the work of my hands. Relieve the stress I feel. Take the reigns of my life and bless me with fruit that only you can give." The Church Staff

BLESSINGS AND PRAISES
| |
We just want to let those who were away this weekend, and so missed our Resurrection Day service, to know that we had a simple and yet moving and poweful remembrance celebration of Jesus Christ's supreme redeeming act of love that saved us from being eternally separated from Him!
Many such comments were offered and heard: that we had such a touching memorial for an oft secularized event.
A special Easter Program honoring "This Man, Jesus" was the centerpiece of yesterday's celebration. Perspectives and impressions of Jesus were portrayed by the Bible characters Sarah (Anne Dijamco), Lazarus, Mary and Martha (Jack Charles, Maria Avena and Laurice Orense), Lydia (Selena Culpeper), Pontius Pilate (Archie Davenport) and Peter (Eric Torres).
Other Bible characters who expressed what they knew of Jesus were Joram (Joey Miranda), Simon (LJ Dijamco), Benjamin (Jonathan Miranda), Mary, the mother of Jesus (Tessa Charles), Abigail (Jessica Alano), Mary Magdalene, Salome, and Mary, the mother of James (Joannie Alano, Joyce Torres and Vanessa Cabrera).
Several songs appropriate for the occasion were interspersed throughout the program: "Above All" and "At the Cross," by Sam Alano; "By His Wounds" and "Mary, Did You Know?" by Aaron Alcaraz; and "At the Foot of the Cross" by Jessica Alano and Sydney Castille.
A solemn yet happy communion service was conducted by Pastor Hansel to remember Jesus' "Last Supper" with His disciples before His death. Both blessings from and praises to our Lord and Savior were the order of Resurrection Sunday!

CONGRATULATIONS !
|
To Ben and Julie De Vera on the recent birth of their healthy baby girl Ashley Danielle. We do not have the "vital statistics" on the baby but we are delighted to hear that mother and daughter are doing very well. And so is the father!
We are all looking forward to seeing you all at Gospel Life very soon.

GETTING READY
| There will be new Basic 10 classes started soon either on Thursday and/or Friday evenings. These are in the process of being organized. In the meantime, there will be a sign-up sheet at the church foyer for these classes. Those who are taking this course for the first time are most welcome. Others who would like to review this class or who would like to become familiar with this newer edition of Basic 10, also known as "Keys to the Kingdom," are free to join these classes as well. The Small Group Fellowship meeting at Medy and Irma's residence on Thursday evenings will start the Basic 10 study this coming Thursday, April 28, as there are new friends attending their meetings who are athirst for Bible truth. |

ANY NEWS CLIPS?
|
Any Small Group Fellowship or Bible Study Group, or other church ministries or members who have news bits to share, please let us have them either by calling any of the church staff, or using Gospel Life's e-mail address (gospellifecommunity@gmail.com) or sending your email to the Newsletter editor, Conrad Miranda (cmira4@aol.com) . Others may want to use the snail mail through the U.S. Postal Service. You may do so, but please use the church's mailing address below. It will not get delivered if you use our church's street address because we do not have a mailbox out there near the street as it gets vandalized. |

Each one of you is a Prayer Warrior. Please pray for our ministry team in the Philippines as they hold meetings to organize more church groups, to teach and nurture our pastors and lay ministers there, to oversee the progress being made among the Gospel Life churches that are being raised and planted there. Lead ministers John and Jessie Tulio are already there. One of our praise and worship ministry leaders, Johnny Orzame, is already there, making preparations to celebrate his wedding to Darica Joy Espenida next week. Pastor Hansel and his wife Natalie will be flying there this week to join the team.

MEDITATION
"Lord, 'here I am , send me.' Isaiah experienced Your presence and fell on his face in repentance. He was so in awe that he cried out for You to send Him. Lord, as a child of yours, I ask You to send me out into my world of influence to do Your will, to reach others for You, to accomplish what You would have me do.
"I pray for Your guidance always and Your wisdom, and boldness through the Holy Spirit. I pray for my neighbors, so that those who know You would grow closer to You and be Christ-like in the community, and that those who do not know You will see Jesus in me and in my life.
"I pray that they will see themselves in need of a Savior, and see the blessings You have bestowed upon me, and for them to know that You are God. In Jesus' name I pray, amen."
