Greetings!

Do you feel defeated?  Discouraged?  Depressed? No sweat.

Reassurance comes from Psalm 13:4-6 - 'Don't let my enemies gloat, saying, "We have defeated him!" Don't let them rejoice at my downfall.  But I trust in your unfailing love.  I will rejoice because you have rescued me.  I will sing to the Lord because he has been so good to me.'

Let that be the thought that carries us through the rest of this week, and every day of every week. His strength is our strength.  His joy is our joy!

The Church Staff

FIRST  SUNDAY

We always look forward to First Sundays of the month at Gospel Life because this is the time for sharing experiences, talents, testimonies and other things. We do get off the usual worship format that we are accustomed to on the other Sundays of the month. And then, there is the sweet fellowship with Jesus at the celebration of the Communion.

Let's all be there this coming Sunday, April 3rd.

YOUTH LEADERS

There is a meeting scheduled for this coming Sunday, April 3, for all the Youth Leaders (and those who would like to be Youth Leaders) at the Youth Room in the modular building during lunch time.  Pastor LJ indicates that this meeting is to help formulate plans for youth activities and other future plans, as well as to enhance current youth programs like LOL (Living Out Loud).

THE  NEED

We have mentioned this item previously, and this is a reminder, lest we forget.  There is an urgent need that requires our prayer warriors to be vigilant about.

The Pastors' Conference for the Gospel Life ministers and lay leaders in the Philippines which is scheduled at the Irawan Church in Palawan on May 12 -16 will be attended by fifteen Gospel Life pastors from the many Gospel Life churches in the Philippines.  We'd like to help them with their transportation expenses as food and lodging will be provided for them at the Irawan Church campus by the local congregation.

Their travel costs will be approximately $150 per person. We are looking for donations towards this costly but necessary expense.  Fifteen sponsors donating $150 each will be such a blessing for the receiver, but more so for the giver.  However, many smaller donations will be just as laden with blessings as one large donation.

Donations for this purpose will need to be submitted by Sunday, April 17 at the latest. Please specify "Pastors' Conference" on your check memo or on the Offering Envelope. Let's all prayerfully consider this matter.

BIBLE STUDY GROUPS

Watch out for the announcement about another "Basic 10" Bible Study Group that will meet either on Thursday or Friday evenings or both depending on the response for attendance.  This will include new church attendees who have indicated their desire to join such a group.

It is, indeed, a blessing as well as a happy responsibility to have so much "hunger" to learn Bible truths among so many. We may need volunteer hosts and/or leaders to start more of these Small Group Fellowships or Bible Study Groups. Please let us know if you are that volunteer!

REGISTRY FORMS and CHURCH GREETERS

A reminder to our congregants as well as our church greeters that there is a Registry Form at the church foyer which can be used to make requests for Pastoral Assistance, prayer, baptism, joining a Bible Study Group, and other requests. Please fill in the necessary spaces and drop the completed forms into  the Offering Basket when it is passed around, or hand the forms to one of our church staff.

The forms are clipped on the inside front cover of the guest registry book.  The Registry Form can also be handed to our guests for them to fill out if they fail to write on the guest registry book.

CHURCH GREETERS' SCHEDULE

April 10 - Ruby & Ding Dijamco

OUR SHARED VALUES

The Ministry of Our Spiritual Gifts

"We will train, equip and enable believers through the leadership of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers, to use their spiritual gifts daily in serving God and humanity in their homes and community, the marketplace and their social circles."

This is the fifth value of the series, which we remind you of each Wednesday.

MARKETPLACE  MINISTRY

Psalm 23

(For the Workplace)

The Lord is my real boss, and I shall not want.
He gives me peace, when chaos is all around me.
He gently reminds me to pray and do all things
without murmuring and complaining.

He reminds me that He is my source and not my job.
He restores my sanity every day and guides my
decisions that I might honor Him in all that I do.

Even though I face absurd amounts of e-mails, system crashes,
unrealistic deadlines, budget cutbacks, gossiping co-workers,
discriminating supervisors, and an aging body that doesn't
cooperate every morning, I still will not stop--for He is with me!
His presence, His peace, and His power will see me through.

He raises me up, even when they fail to promote me.
He claims me as His own, even when the company
threatens to let me go.
His faithfulness and love are better than any bonus check!

His retirement plan beats any 401K there is!
When all is said and done, I'll be working for Him
a whole lot longer than that.

I  BLESS  HIS  NAME ! ! !

HELPING HANDS

We will need several volunteers to help set up and man the tent that we will use at Gospel Life's driveway by the gate for our Japan Disaster Relief Fund Drive-Thru event next week Saturday, April 9.  Please be there to help set the tent up by 8 a.m. We will also need help to take it down at around 5 p.m.

Your helping hands will also be needed between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to help tend to the folks that will be driving by to hand in their donations.  Johnny Chua successfully arranged with the local SeaFood City grocery store $5 discount coupons to be given to those who bring their donations for the cause.

Please let your family members, friends and neighbors know about this fund drive. Also encourage your Small Group Fellowship colleagues to spread the word among their families, friends and business contacts.

Alternatively, you can obtain several Gospel Life offering envelopes to give to your friends and neighbors so they can just mail their donations to Gospel Life.  Please request them to write "Japan Aid" or something similar on their check memo or on the envelope so their donations are properly designated.  They will receive a receipt from Gospel Life for their tax deductible charitable contribution.

MEDITATION

"Dear Lord, Many are the wonderful works You have done. You have put a new song in my mouth and praise in my heart. You gave new life to my steps and peace in my soul. You have lifted me up and placed me upon solid ground. Thank you. May my life bless You and my Words exalt You, O Lord.  In Jesus' name, amen."
