Greetings!
Do you have the "gumption" to tell someone about Jesus and to offer salvation if needed? There are many among our members and congregants who have this talent. A talent, because it takes boldness and fearlessness to talk to someone about Christ's saving power while one waits at the bus stop for a ride, or when someone is in line waiting his or her turn to see the bank teller. It takes guts to do this, to be able to share Jesus' love and His grace in a few short minutes, when one practically starts a "cold call". But it can be done! Those who have done it often enough become comfortable in time, and could start such a conversation without hesitation. Let us pray that all of us can become fearless in sharing the Good News of salvation with others. The Church Staff |

GRADUATION
Congratulations to a working Mom!
 | | Grace Veluz |
Our very own Grace Veluz graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree on March 15, from St. Jude College.
For several years, she has been working as a Licensed Vocational Nurse at various institutions, and in the last two years or so, she has been taking advanced courses towards her BSN degree. She spent her last month of clinical training with an affiliated hospital in the Philippines.
Grace is the mother of two of our active youth members: Jeff, who is one of our band's guitarists, and Abby. Both Jeff and Abby are pursuing college degrees at present.

MISSION
From Self-Propagation to Empowerment
 | | "Empower us, O Lord!" |
In recent weeks, you have heard and seen a paradigm shift in Gospel Life Community's mission. It is a shift from a mission of self-propagation to one of people empowerment.
The basis for this shift is simple: we can't accomplish anything for so long as there is no passion for what we are doing. Our culture must promote what we desire, something that pleases both God and oneself, a relational culture that promotes a Christ-centered lifestyle.
Our mentality has to change from one that promotes a church's brand name to one that creates a nurturing, loving community that enables us to live the Christ-centered lifestyle.
OUR MISSION: To share the Good news of God's grace everywhere and to be a loving community that empowers people to realize their divine destiny of living the Christ-centered lifestyle.

OUR SHARED VALUES
Our Destiny to Become Christlike in Character
"We will help believers in their journey of growing and becoming like Jesus in character, in an environment of freedom, without blame or shame, through the compassionate ministry of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers."
(Every Wednesday we feature one of Our Shared Values as enumerated in the Gospel Life pamphlet Vision 21: Journey to Divine Destiny. This is the fourth in the series.)

REMINDER
Registry Form for Guests and Members
There is a form clipped on the inside of the front cover of the Guest Registry book in the church foyer that can be used by both members and guests to request for prayer, pastoral assistance, baptism, to join a Bible study group and for other requests. Please use this form as you need to, or if you prefer to talk to one of the church staff, that would be better still.

MARKETPLACE MINISTRY
Learning to Receive
"In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat - for he grants sleep to those he loves" (Psalm 127:2).
One of the paradigm shifts every believer must learn once they make Jesus lord of their lives is how to move from receiving by sweating and toiling to receiving by trusting and obeying. In the scripture, Egypt represented sweat and toil and bondage. The Promised Land represented a land of milk and honey received by trust and obedience.
We learn in Joshua 24:13 that our obedience will allow us to receive things we would never receive out of sweat and toil. "So I gave you a land on which you did not toil and cities you did not build; and you live in them and eat from vineyards and olive groves that you did not plant."
I learned this principle when God began to transition me from owning and operating an advertising agency to a vocational marketplace ministry. Many times I could not see how provision to do my work would result because it was not based upon a contract-for-services model. I was once invited to speak to a small group of people on a Caribbean island. I knew it would require three days of my time and I'd receive very little compensation. The Lord instructed me to go anyway. Just as I thought, I did not receive a commensurate income for the time invested for the three days. (This is often the way we think in business)
.
However, I left some books behind and they began to be circulated to other islands. A few businessmen received the books and they invited me to speak at a conference for 22 Caribbean islands later that year. One man was touched by my teaching. On January 2, I received a check for $5000 from this man. I pondered the sequence of events that led to receiving this provision. It was because of my obedience to the small things that God was able to "give me a land on which I did not toil."
Be faithful to the small things and God will always honor your obedience.

PRAYER CHANGES THINGS
"Dear Jesus, sometimes I feel like I have poured myself into something or someone, and worked and fought for a cause, only to see no fruits for my labors. It all seemed vain. But I know that you can work in all of that to fulfill a greater purpose.
Please don't let the labor of my heart and hands be in vain. I pray that all I do would be as unto You and for a good purpose and eternal value. Please bless the works of my heart and hands for Your glory.
Please empower me with wisdom and insight through Your Holy Spirit. Please guide me every step and every day, to have a part in reaching the world for You and ministering to those You love.
In Jesus' name. Amen."
