Greetings!

Growing in Jesus is the work of the Holy Spirit in us after we accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. The moment we receive Him into our lives, we receive the Holy Spirit, who then dwells in us.

"...And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago. The Spirit is God's guarantee that he will give us everything he promised..."  Ephesians 1: 13b - 14a

"But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives, he will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.  Here there is no conflict with the law."  Galatians 5:22 (NLT)

Let us be thankful to God who saved us because Jesus redeemed us by shedding his blood for us on the cross of Calvary.

The Church Staff

Bible Study Group

There is a plan to start another Bible Study Group (small group fellowship) that would meet at the Fellowship Hall on Thursday evenings at 7:30 p.m. for the Basic 10 lessons.

Any of you who may be interested in this new time frame for Bible study, or know of someone who may want to join this group, please inform our Lead Pastors John or Jessie Tulio so this group can start soon.

Don't be a Stranger

We know that there are family gatherings that can't be missed, appointments we need to go to, work schedules that may be unmanageable, and many other reasons that make us miss our Sunday church services and we understand these things do happen. Nevertheless, "don't be a stranger" for too long.

We all love you and we miss seeing you and fellowshipping with you.  Somehow our church family doesn't seem complete whenever you are not here.

So, let's see you next time, even if you seem to feel a little bit too tired from  working the night before, or have been really busy in the past week, or got up a little bit later than usual on Sunday morning. Come anyway.  There is a blessing in the gathering together of fellow believers!

Generosity

But for the fact of our limited personal resources, most  have a giving and generous nature. It is an eye-opener to read through

2 Corinthians 8 and 9 once again, to admire and be in awe of how the churches in Macedonia were adamant in sending their gifts to the Christians in Jerusalem.

Paul in his letter to the Corinthian Christians said, "Though they have been going through much trouble and hard times, their wonderful joy and deep poverty have overflowed in rich generosity. For I can testify that they gave not only what they could afford but far more. And they did it of their own free will....Best of all, they went beyond our highest hopes, for their first action was to dedicate themselves to the Lord, and to us for whatever directions God might give them."  2 Corinthians 8:2,3,5 (NLT)

In consonance with the financial report we heard at the Core Group Meeting last Sunday, let us pray for each other to see the enormity of God's mission ahead of us, and to realize that we have nothing to fear because our Father is rich and owns the resources that are available to us in faith.

One Flock, One Shepherd

"I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to My voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd."

- John 10:16

A friend of mine told me a story about an experience he had in Israel. They were in the country visiting some of the famous biblical sites when they saw a group of sheepherders. A shepherd brought his flock of sheep into a round pen for the night. Then, a few minutes later, another shepherd brought his flock into the pen. Then, a few minutes later, yet another shepherd brought his sheep into the pen. There were three groups of sheep in the pen with no identifying marks among any of them. My friend wondered how in the world they would separate their sheep the next day.

The next morning, a shepherd came over to the pen and made a comment to his sheep. One by one, the sheep filed out to follow him. Only his sheep followed his voice. My friend said it was an amazing scene to see only that shepherd's sheep follow him and the others remain in the pen. What a picture of Jesus' words spoken centuries earlier.

Hearing and responding to Jesus' voice is the key to having a two-way relationship with God. It is the difference between having religion and a relationship. Can you recognize God's voice in your life? Are you listening to the Shepherd's voice? Do you respond when He calls? Ask Jesus to help you increase your ability to hear. Give more time to spending quiet moments in His presence to hear His voice. He wants to be your Good Shepherd.

2 Corinthians 10:17, 18 - As the Scriptures say, "The person who wishes to boast should boast only of what the Lord has done."   When people boast about themselves, it doesn't count for much.  But when the Lord commends someone, that's different.  (NLT)
