Greetings!

Tempus fugit! Time flies! When the month of March ends, we will have gone through a quarter of the year.  It seems our New Year's resolutions were made only yesterday.

Let us make certain that each one of us knows clearly the victory each one who believes in Christ is assured of.  It is so, because He completed that work for us at the cross.

The Church Staff

Core Group Meeting
Sunday, March 6, 2:00 p.m.

Please do not forget our Core Group Meeting this coming Sunday.  Pastor John will have a power point presentation regarding our church finances. Other matters will be addressed as well.

Who are the core group members?   In sum, all the elders, coordinators, managers and members actively involved in any of the church ministries make up the "core group."

What is the function of the "core group"?  It is also known as the Church Council. It is tasked with reviewing and approving the church's 1) mission and strategic plan, 2) leadership structure, 3) annual budget and financial reports 4) property purchase or sale, 5) membership applications/discipline 6) lead elder, and 7) leadership board.

Annual Meeting in Vacaville
Pastoral Staff in Attendance

Our lead ministers Pastors John and Jessie Tulio will be in attendance at a Graham Cooke event which begins tomorrow evening and ends on Saturday afternoon. The conference theme is "The Art of Thinking Brilliantly." It will be held at The Mission, in Vacaville, CA.

Description of the Conference:

"The mind is both a battleground and the key to transformation. We are learning to be vulnerable to throne room thinking, so that we may consider life from a place above the line, not below. Building the right mindset is crucial to growth. We can never entertain thoughts that are detrimental to our identity. What if there are no such things as negatives, only possibilities that are yet to be encountered? The mind of Christ is a strong, powerful way of thinking that releases us to think like Heaven and release a fresh anointing here on earth. This gathering is only for those that have a serious intention to make some real gains in the renewal of mind and spirit."

Of our pastoral staff, Pastor Hansel, Drs. Mik and Joannie Alano are among those who will also be attending the meetings. Pastor Hansel also attended the Blazing Fire school earlier.

Graham Cooke is in the leadership board at The Mission.  He teaches classes in  Prophetic Ministry, among others.

Our Shared Values
The Priority of Pursuing Intimacy with God

Last week we started this section on Our Shared Values. The subtitle above is the second value on our list.  It is explained thus: "We will create an accepting and gracious environment where spiritual friendships and mutual caring among believers are developed and nurtured."

Every Wednesday we will bring to your attention one of our shared values until all ten have been recalled.

Devotional Article

"Walk with me and work with me-watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly." Matthew 11:29-30 (MSG)

"Where we have been loyal to many things, we become loyal to one: Jesus Christ, our Lord."

Jesus calls us to a level of intimacy that can only be sustained by his constant presence in our lives. As Pastor Rick has been teaching us, we can't see Christianity is an add-on philosophy to a life we've mapped out for ourselves.

Instead, we must see our relationship with Jesus like the man who finds hidden treasure in a field. He reprioritizes his whole life because nothing is as important as buying that field.

We must become like the shopkeeper who finds a rare pearl and realizes everything else he has is unimportant compared to the pearl -- and so he never looks back to the lesser things that once demanded his attention (Matthew 13:44-50). Where we have been loyal to many things, we become loyal to one thing: the person, Jesus Christ.

As Pastor Geoff taught us, when we begin to see things through the eyes of Jesus, our lives are radically changed. Suddenly, we see a cranky spouse as an eternal being we're called to love. We'll see an annoying neighbor as someone who matters to Jesus. And that co-worker who seems to have a unique ability to push every one of your buttons, Jesus loves him/her just as much as he loves you.

Jesus uses them to call you into a deeper relationship with him. "Walk with me and work with me-watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace." This is how we learn to be like Christ: "Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly."
