Greetings!
As we begin another week, our prayer is for each one of us, and for all believers, to experience the love of the Father this week and onward. Let us ask Him to draw us and unbelievers closer to Him, so that His unconditional love will be revealed to each one.
Thus, we continue to grow in the understanding of the Lord's love.

Marriage Enrichment Seminar and Dinner
A day early, nevertheless, we know that a number of us have spouses or significant others who will need to either be reminded or remembered that they are loved, respected and honored.
Sunday, February 13, at 2:00 p.m. there will be a Marriage Enrichment Seminar offered to married couples and also to others contemplating marriage. All who fit this criterion are welcome to attend.
Following the seminar, at about 5:00 p.m. there will be a Valentine's Eve dinner in one of the local restaurants to be announced. This will be a "dinner-on-your-own" arrangement so that everyone can order whatever they decide to order from the restaurant menu.
A good number have already signed up for the dinner. If you haven't done so yet, please let either Penny or Conrad Miranda know (telephone: 818-482-0178 or email: cmira4@aol.com,)

For Jon J and Marsha's Family
A send off barbecue party was held for Jon J and Marsha Tulio's family on Saturday afternoon. There was a good turnout and everyone who attended had a good time.
Several cards were available for those who attended to write their messages and blessings for the family.
The family is heading back to the Philippines in less than two weeks for another long stay of perhaps a year and a half or so. They were there for about a similar length of time before they came home on their furlough. They will spend the last several days of their stay here in the U.S. with Marsha's family up in northern California.
As before, they will make Bacolod City their headquarters during their stay there. They will continue to do their missionary work under the auspices of the Nothing to Lose (N2L) Foundation. Tax deductible donations may be made to the foundation through the Gospel Life Community.

Sacrificing At What Cost
..."I will not sacrifice to the Lord my God burnt offerings that cost me nothing." - 2 Samuel 24:24
One day I was having lunch with a man who had a certain amount of notoriety in his life. After a time of getting to know each other, he said, "How can I help you?" Those words surprised me coming from a man who obviously already had many requirements on his time. My first thought was that I was impressed with the individual. My next thought was to wonder whether it was a genuine offer or just an effort to impress me with his humility and Christian piety. I have since discovered he was sincere.
This encounter reminded me that each of us must be willing to give to others without a motive to get anything in return. It is simply an act of serving others. Jesus said that we must consider others more important than ourselves. When is the last time you did something for another without a motive of getting anything in return?
When King David came to offer a sacrifice and pray for the removal of a plague on Israel, he was given the opportunity to make the sacrifice without the cost of purchasing the sacrificial animals.
But the king replied to Araunah, "No, I insist on paying you for it. I will not sacrifice to the Lord my God burnt offerings that cost me nothing." So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen and paid fifty shekels of silver for them. David built an altar to the Lord there and sacrificed burnt offerings and fellowship offerings. Then the Lord answered prayer in behalf of the land, and the plague on Israel was stopped (2 Samuel 24:24-25).
David, understanding the principle of giving, said he could not offer anything to God that did not cost him something. Otherwise, it was not a sacrificial gift.
When was the last time you sacrificed for another with no expectation of getting anything in return? We can all give something to others, such as our time, our money, or our expertise. This is real Christianity that models the Spirit of Christ. The next time you meet with someone, why not consider how you might be a blessing to that person. Why not ask, "How can I help you?"

Baptism
Cindy and Steve Bravo were baptized yesterday towards the end of the Sunday Service. Although Steve had been baptized by immersion some years back, he decided to join his wife who was doing this for the first time, symbolic of their unity in believing and accepting Christ as Lord and Savior in their lives.
Testimony from Lion's Den Graduates
Tessa Charles who leads the Prayer Ministry Team, gave testimony regarding an experience in answered prayer and the way the Holy Spirit leads those who seek to minister to people who need ministering to. She called on several prayer team members who were also recent graduates from the Lion's Den School of the Supernatural to relate their experiences regarding their prayer ministry.
Worship in Song
The Castille family rendered a special song which was well received and enjoyed by the congregation. Momma Jing (Majella), daughters Sidney and Sophie sang the song as a trio, while eldest daughter Simone accompanied them on the piano.
Homily
A short message of encouragement was given by Jon J Tulio. He related some experiences as he and his wife, Marsha, worked with young students in the Philippines, either in basketball or in the martial arts, to convey God's gospel message to them.
He placed emphasis on becoming a friend just for friendship's sake as a means of communicating the Gospel to them, even without actively preaching to them.
Communion
We had our monthly communion at the end of yesterday's service. After partaking of the symbols of Jesus' broken body and blood, the congregants, holding hands across the sanctuary, renewed their pledge to love and honor one another.
Pastor Hansel Orzame led out in yesterday's services.

| | "My peace I leave with you!"
| | "So this is the point: The law no longer holds you in its power, because you died to its power when you died with Christ on the cross. And now you are united with the one who was raised from the dead. As a result, you can produce good fruit, that is, good deeds for God.
"When we were controlled by our old nature, sinful desires were at work within us, and the law aroused these evil desires that produced sinful deeds, resulting in death.
"But now we have been released from the law, for we died with Christ, and we are no longer captive to its power. Now we can really serve God, not in the old way by obeying the letter of the law, but in the new way, by the Spirit." Romans 7:4-6 (NLT)
Peace!
