December 27, 2010                                                        Monday Edition

Greetings!

The New Year is almost here upon us.  Let us all pray for peace, quiet, and tranquility in our lives, leaving behind the vestiges of hatred, bigotry and discrimination.

Our God loves every last one of His children no matter what nation they come from, or what their skin color might be.  Let us all be faithful to our chosen designation of being a "Church Without Walls".

Celebrate New Year's Eve

There will be Praise and Prayer here at Gospel Life on Friday evening, New Year's Eve, December 31 beginning at about 8:30 p.m.
until midnight. During the hours of 9 to 10 p.m. a prayer team will be available for special prayers, prayers for healing, impartation and the prophetic word.  There will not be a formal service but those who would prefer the company of their church family as the New Year ushers in will want to do so in our church campus.

Some of our church ladies have indicated they will bring some munchies for the midnight "media noche" repast.

Year End Offerings and Donations

Multi-flare 1Please be reminded that all your year-end offerings and tax-deductible donations MUST BE given, hand delivered or otherwise postmarked by December 31 and no later.  It makes it difficult for our church's finance department  to make adjustments when someone, for example, submits a check backdated to December 31 a week or two later.

All church mail should be addressed to 436 Crestwood Lane, Walnut, CA 91789.

The Art Lab

Several of the middle school and high school-aged youth started a three-day "Art Lab" today sponsored by Gospel Life's affiliate Nothing to Lose Foundation.

Each student is allowed to pick two courses, among which are:  Filmmaking, DJ /"Turntablism", Graphic Design, and Action/Fight Choreography.

Each day the course attendees will start at about 9:30 a.m. and  end at about 3:00 p.m.

E-Mail Addresses

If you know  fellow church members or  "regular" attendees of Gospel Life who are not receiving our Newletter and other e-mailed materials, and who would like to receive them, please encourage them  to submit their e-mail  address to us so we can start sending our e-mails out to them.

If you prefer to use another e-mail address,  if your e-mail address has been changed recently, or if planning to change your e-mail address on a specific date, please let us know as well.

Baptism

There will be a baptism on Sunday, January 2.  All others who desire to be baptized on the same day will please make their requests known to any of Gospel Life's Pastoral Staff this week, as soon as possible,  to allow for baptismal  preparation of the candidate, if needed.

Devotional

"All of us must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent me, because there is little time left before the night falls and all work comes to an end." John 9:4 (NLT)

Your destiny has eternal significance. And it will impact the eternal destiny of other people, so it's more important than any job, achievement, or goal you will reach during your life on earth.

The consequences of your mission will last forever; the consequences of your job will not. Nothing else you do will ever matter as much as helping people establish an eternal relationship with God.

This is why you must be urgent about knowing your destiny and completing your mission. Jesus said, "All of us must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent me, because there is little time left before the night falls and all work comes to an end." (John 9:4 NLT)

The clock is ticking down on your life mission, so don't delay another day. Get started on your mission of reaching out to others now! We will have all of eternity to celebrate with those we have brought to Jesus, but we only have our lifetime in which to reach them.

This does not mean you should quit your job to become a full-time evangelist. God wants you to share the Good News where you are. As a student, mother, preschool teacher, salesman, or manager or whatever you do, you should continually look for people God places in your path with whom you can share the gospel.
