Greetings!

As we enter another holiday season, we are reminded of Jesus and His ministry while He was on earth .  Let us keep Christ in Christmas and remind ourselves of the reason for this season. God so loved us that He sent His only Son to die in our stead so that we may have Eternal Life, once we believe and accept the sacrifice He did for us on the cross.

Let us all set our anger and resentment aside, whatever the reason may be that set us off that way.  Let us allow God's love into our hearts, and share the same with others:  our family, our friends, our neighbors, and our co-workers.

GL NOW DECKED FOR CHRISTMAS

Red poinsettias make up the Christmas tree displayed on the platform at Gospel Life's sanctuary.  Our church looks and feels "christmassy" again!  There will be a Christmas service on Sunday, December 19, where several different age groups will present certain parts of the program that day.

Please be alert to certain regular activities of the month that may have already been cancelled or postponed because of the holiday activities. We will announce them if they are brought to our attention.  Among those that we know are cancelled for December are the Christians in Commerce monthly meeting and the LA/Glendale small group fellowships' monthly combined meeting.

STRATEGY SESSION

This coming Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. there will be another strategy session/brainstorming at the Fellowship Hall.  The meeting is a continuation of the meetings to plan Gospel Life's direction as it faces a whole new and different generation to bring the gospel of salvation to. Making these plans will attempt to combine the resources and abilities of both the younger and more seasoned generations represented in the church.  All church members are welcome to attend and voice out their input into the process.

FEEDING THE HOMELESS

Sunday, December 5, at 5 p.m. volunteers from Gospel Life will supply the food and feed the homeless at the St. Christopher Catholic Church  at 629 S. Glendora Ave. in West Covina.
They will also bring bagged breakfast and lunches for the following day for these homeless people.
Nancy Alano, who is coordinating this project, and a number of volunteers will do the bagging on Saturday, December 4, at the Fellowship Hall.  The time initially scheduled is at 9 a.m., however, please watch for any time change.

CONNECTED THROUGH CHRIST

The Christian Fellowship Bible Church is inviting interested persons to "learn more about the truth of the gospel" through workshops, praise and worship and performances.  This is on Saturday, December 4, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

CFBC is located at 1773 W. San Bernardino Road, Suite A7-A10 in West Covina.

MARKETPLACE MINISTRY

 The Power of Serving Others

"Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms" (1 Peter 4:9-11).

There is a Kingdom principle I find few others really understand. The principle is this: When you focus on serving others, your need is often met through God's supernatural law of serving.

I've seen this happen so many times. The law of sowing and reaping comes into play in this Kingdom principle. "Sow for yourselves righteousness, reap the fruit of unfailing love" (Hos 10:12). "Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work" (2 Cor 9:6-9).

Whenever God calls me to serve another person with my time and resources I notice how God measures resources back to me from unrelated sources. Sometimes it comes through an unexpected donation to our ministry or a speaking engagement or a new opportunity. It is uncanny how this happens consistently when I serve others. We are never to view people or organizations as competition. The Bible says that God has already assigned our portion. We need not have to manipulate outcomes.

"LORD, you have assigned me my portion and my cup; you have made my lot secure. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance" (Ps 16:5-6).

We don't serve others to get. However, when we do serve others, there is a Kingdom principle that works on your behalf as fruit of your service. Is there someone you need to serve today?

Let the spirit of giving and sharing be uppermost in our minds as we contemplate on God's gift to us:  our Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ.

"I bring you good news of great joy for everyone!  The Savior -- yes, the Messiah, the Lord -- has been born tonight in Bethlehem, the city of David! And this is how you will recognize him:  You will find a baby lying in a manger, wrapped snugly in strips of cloth!"  Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others -- the armies of heaven -- praising God:  "Glory to God in the highest heaven, and peace on earth to all whom God favors."  (Luke 2: 10b-14  NLT)
