3 ordained Sunday
Service very well attended

There was a large number of congregants at the Sunday service yesterday to witness the ordination of three who are on the staff of Gospel Life Community - Church Without Walls.

Ordained as Ministers of the Gospel are Joanna Alano, Hansel Orzame and Conrad Miranda IV. A service of dedication and impartation was held. Jon J and Marcia Tulio led the ordination candidates and their spouses to a row of seats up front.  Ben De Vera sang "So Send I You" followed by Pastor John's sermon entitled "As the Father Has Sent Me."

The candidates were individually presented with their picture slide projected on the screen.  Each candidate gave a response to the challenge.  The ordination rites followed, which consisted of the examination of the candidates through oral questions and answers, the laying on of hands and the prayer and blessing.

While Jessie Tulio, one of our lead ministers, prophesied over the candidates, Pastor John proceeded to annoint each candidate's head and open palms with oil.  The congregants surrounded the candidates and their spouses who were kneeling, as they laid their hands on them.

Johnny Orzame sang, "Send Me".  The communion service climaxed the solemn occasion  following the Investiture of the three new ministers.

Greeting Card Campaign
Two-thirds have been distributed

We have good news and bad news!

First, the good news:  two-thirds of the all-purpose greeting cards have been distributed!  Now let's give them away in lieu of donations!

The bad news:  we still have a third of these cards to distribute!  Those who have not yet taken a batch or two of these cards please do so by next Sunday.  Use them as gifts or to solicit donations ($10 for a box of 12 cards).

For those who already have them, we'd like to see the donations come in the soonest possible.  You are responsible for bringing in the donations for the boxes of cards that you got from your small group leader or from the church.

You may also order and send your donations via the internet by clicking the PayPal Donate icon below. Thank you all so much. This will benefit the church's GLGO (Gospel Life Global Outreach).

Finances in the Bible

Know the state of your flocks, and put your heart into caring for your herds, for riches don't last forever .... Proverbs 27:23-24a (NLT)

"If you spent as much time writing down your finances as you do worrying about them, you'd probably have a lot less to worry about."

When you think of following Jesus, your probably don't think about keeping good financial records, but God wants you to keep track of what you spend, what you owe, and what you earn.

The Bible says we need to watch our financial interests closely. "Know the state of your flocks ...". Today we might say, 'Know the state of your stocks'. In other words, we need to know where our money is going. People say money talks, but actually it just walks away quietly.  And you wonder where it went.

Not knowing where your money is going equals disaster. You get into debt because you're not keeping good records that show you what is happening with your finances. As the saying goes, you end up spending money you don't have on things you don't need to impress people you don't even like.

And this causes all kinds of problems in your life.  When you wonder where it all went, that is a warning sign. You are already in trouble if you don't know where your money is going because ignorance and easy credit equals trouble.

You need to know what you owe, own, and earn. If you want your next ten years to be a decade of destiny, then you have to keep good records because riches can disappear fast.

Think about this: if you spent as much time writing down your finances as you do worrying about them, you'd probably have a lot less to worry about. You need to keep good records if you want God's blessing on your finances.
