Greetings!

God is not interested only in making us healthy, wealthy and happy.  More than anything else He wants us to be like Christ.

When we accept Christ into our lives we become like him in God's sight, because Christ's righteousness covers us. Only by grace, only by faith, only in Christ!

STRATEGY SESSION

The fourth Strategy Session is scheduled for this coming Saturday, 9:00 a.m. at the Fellowship Hall.

Called the Vision 21 Gen X Strategy Planning, these sessions are intended to produce a set of guiding principles to help chart the future of our church.

The last three sessions involved brainstorming with regards to the definition of a Christ-centered lifestyle, the kind of culture that will produce this kind of lifestyle and the kind of ministries and activities that will create this culture and sustain the Christ-centered lifestyle.

A more effective way of reaching Generation X is the goal of holding these sessions and to accomplish this with both the older and younger generations of our church members acting in collaboration with each other.

YOUTH ACTIVITIES

DEVIANT GENERATION
Every Friday evening, the youth gather together at 7:00 p.m. at the Youth Room for Bible Study.  At present they are doing the Basic 10 series, Keys of the Kingdom.  Sometimes they meet just to socialize, play games, eat out or some such similar activity.
Leaders for this group are L J Dijamco, Johnny Orzame, Laurice Orense, Junior Cabrera and Joey Miranda.

ENCOUNTER
A few weeks ago, the youth had an "Encounter" program which emphasizes a deeper worship and praise experience. Graduates of the Lion's Den School of the Supernatural will be in charge of this program which is hoped to become a monthly feature. Pastor Hansel said that Eric and Joyce Torres will lead out in the next Encounter.

LOCKDOWN 2
Similar to an event for the church youth (ages 13 through college) that was held about a year ago, another youth lock-in will be held from Friday, October 29 at 6 p.m. through Saturday, October 30 at 12 noon.
There is a $10 fee at the door to participate.  There will be awesome worship, an epic Nerf tournament, a pizza dinner, and breakfast  in a Holy Spirit atmosphere.
Those attending are asked to bring their sleeping bags, pillows and other personal necessities.  Please talk to L J Dijamco or Junior Cabrera if you have questions.

Pray for Those in Authority

"I urge, then, first of all, requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all men; for kings and those in authority" (1 Timothy 2:1).

In I Timothy 2:1 Paul exhorts his young protegé to make prayer and intercession for those in authority the first work of the church.

Whereas we once thought of those in politics, military, religion, and economics as controlling the earth, today we recognize the enormous influence wielded by those in the workplace. Our mindsets are changing; those in the workplace, including business leaders, we now include as those in authority. They, too, are among those Paul exhorted Timothy to cover in prayer.

God is transferring his anointing to be placed upon all saints to get the job done. This is requiring the local church to give more focus on equipping men and women to live out their faith in the workplace. The modern day Church is in a major shift! It is not surprising that the Lord would begin to move in this way. If we are going to see a major harvest in the last days, it will have to come through the largest segment of the body of Christ - those who are Christ's representatives in government, business, and education.

The book of Acts records Lydia, a businesswoman, as God's instrument to introduce the gospel to Europe. The Ethiopian eunuch who was in charge of the treasury of Candace, "Queen of the Ethiopians", introduced the gospel to Africa. Peter launched the gospel into the gentile world through Cornelius, a Roman centurion. And three "workplace ministers" reached Europe, Africa, and the gentiles. These examples indicate the importance of the workplace influence and why intercession is so important for leaders in places of authority.

Today, pray for those leaders in government, business and education.

"In order for us to experience God's rest, we must do two things:  we must understand His ways AND we must do His ways. When we follow these, we will experience supernatural rest in all of our endeavors."

Technology should make our ability to do things easier so we can be more productive. Let's take advantage of this.
