Greetings!
God's goodness continues to flow to us from His throne. We are sustained through His mercy, pampered in His love, so that we, in turn, can share His love to everyone around us. May this be our purpose each day. The Staff

| GREETING CARDS | |
Our greeting cards are available. At our Core Group meeting a month or so ago, everyone was enthusiastically in favor of proceeding with this fund raising project for the Gospel Life missions here and abroad.
We have 833 packages of 12 cards per pack from this first printing. Each family is requested to take care of anywhere from 15 to 20 packs which can be offered to our family members, friends, neighbors, business contacts and others for a donation of $10 per pack. Or you may want to keep these cards for yourself and take care of the donation as well.
The cards carry beautiful Philippine scenes on the front, and is left blank inside so you can write your own greetings for any occasion. The back carries a comment regarding the scenery and a blurb about a published photographer who allowed us to use his pictures at no charge.
The cards are available through your small group leaders who already have them or who will shortly get them by personal delivery. Those who are not attending a small group fellowship may obtain them from the church office/staff. Please be sure you have a "control sheet" to keep track of who you give these packs to, how many packs were handed out, and the amount donated. |
| ANNIE D. "LIVE" | |
We had somewhat of a surprise when Annie Dijamco greeted us "live" through the webcam last Sunday during our "greeting time." Laurice Orense took the time to carry a laptop around displaying Annie's image as she greeted those that came close to the computer's camera.
Annie left over a week ago for her internship in Tuscany, Italy, which is part of her school requirements in Hotel and Restaurant Management at the Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Pasadena, CA. We impart blessings, wisdom and knowledge to Annie as she continues in God's service at work and in school.

| THANKS FOR VOLUNTEERISM |
There were many volunteers for the activities related to the forthcoming Walnut Family Festival to be held at Suzanne Park on Saturday, October 9 with some of the setting up of our booth to be done on Friday, October 8.
Several of you will help set-up our 10 x 20 foot tent which will serve as Gospel Life's booth at the festival. Others have volunteered to take the tent down when the event winds up on Saturday afternoon.
Furthermore, several of our healthcare professionals volunteered to help with the Blood Pressure and Diabetic Screening Clinic which starts at about 10 a.m. on Saturday.
The Prayer Ministry Team will also be represented by a group of volunteers as well.
Health brochures and health counseling will be offered.
Please invite your family members, friends and neighbors to attend the festival and to visit our booth at spaces G-19 and G-20.

Now you belong to him ... in order that you might be useful in the service of God. (Romans 7:4 TEV)
|
"Anytime you use your God-given abilities to help others, you are fulfilling your calling. " |
Your call to salvation included your call to service. They are the same. Regardless of your job or career, you are called to full-time Christian service. A "non-serving Christian" is a contradiction in terms.
The Bible says, "He saved us and called us to be his own people, not because of what we have done, but because of his own purpose." (2 Timothy 1:9 TEV)
Peter adds, "You were chosen to tell about the excellent qualities of God, who called you." (1 Peter 2:9 GW).
You are called to serve God. Growing up, you may have thought that being "called" by God was something only missionaries, pastors, nuns, and other "full-time" church workers experienced, but the Bible says every Christian is called to service. (Ephesians 4:4 -14; see also Romans 1:6-7; 8:28-30; 1 Corinthians 1:2, 9, 26; 7:17; Philippians 3:14; 1 Peter 2:9; 2 Peter 1:3)
Anytime you use your God-given abilities to help others, you are fulfilling your calling. The Bible says, "Now you belong to him ... in order that you might be useful in the service of God." Romans 7:4 TEV)
How much of the time are you being useful in the service of God? In some churches in China, they welcome new believers by saying "Jesus now has a new pair of eyes to see with, new ears to listen with, new hands to help with, and a new heart to love others with."

Our service to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ does not begin or end within our church building, one day a week. Everything we do, at work, at play, at home or elsewhere is a service to our God. There cannot be a distinction between what is secular and what is spiritual.
"Let not your heart be troubled."
