Free Clinic to be Offered Again

Less than two weeks away and it's Walnut Family Festival time again.  On Saturday, October 9, Gospel Life will have a booth at the festival site in Suzanne Park here in Walnut, just as we did last year.  Suzanne Park is located on 625 Suzanne Road, between La Puente Road and Fuerte Drive.

Our booth will be open from 10 a.m. till around 4 p.m.  We will offer a Free Blood Pressure and Diabetic Screening Clinic at the site. Dr. Honesto Pascual, Jr. will be present as a supervising physician.

The Prayer Ministry Team will be actively involved during the festival. There will be health brochures and other materials available as well.

We will also need volunteers not only to set up the tent/booth on Friday afternoon, October 8, beginning at 4 p.m., but also to take it down on Saturday afternoon at about 4 p.m. also.  Sign-up sheets for our volunteers, including our nurses for the clinic, will be available at the church foyer.

This coming Sunday, October 3, as is customary on First Sundays, there will be opportunity for those who signed up to go up front during the service and share one's experiences, or share a word or prophecy from the Holy Spirit, or to sing a song, or otherwise share a talent to God's glory. Please refrain from "preaching" as someone is assigned to deliver a short 10 to 15 minute sermon or homily during the service.  We ask participants to watch the time so that more can go up front to participate.  Please let Pastor Hansel know if you are planning to have a part in the morning's activities.

At the conclusion of the service, we will celebrate Communion / the Lord's Supper.

The Prayer Ministry Team will be available for special prayer requests for healing or for any other purpose after the service.  Please go to the front part of the sanctuary where the Prayer Ministry Team will be waiting for you.

Request for Prayer and Moral Support

Janet Yost writes:  "I would like to request prayer for my niece, Marilin (a full time MTA bus mechanic) who is a believer in the LORD and the POWER OF PRAYER. She has recently competed on the reality TV show, "She's Got the Look."

"Please pray for her continuing success in the modeling industry.  She has pursued this for many years and has done some professional modeling, BUT THIS IS HER BIG BREAK !!!!

"On the show, after going to 4 job interviews, she and one other model 'each' received 2 out of 4 JOB OFFERS. (Unfortunately, the other 3 interviewed contestants [models], received none.)

"If anyone is interested in watching the show, it airs on the Basic cable or satellite TVLAND channel (#76 on Charter, #105 on Dish, #304 on DirecTV and Fios says you can type in the program name in the guide/screen to find it). TONITE, WEDNESDAY, IT WILL BE ON CHARTER (#76) at 10 p.m.

"For others, please check (scroll through) your TV guide to find the correct time. (TVLAND does show some re-runs which, you may also be able to see.)

"I find the show very interesting as the ladies (all over the age of 35) must overcome various modeling challenges in order to stay in the competition.

"I KNOW YOUR PRAYERS AVAIL MUCH.  THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

In His love,
Janet "

 Visions and Dreams

"In the last days, God says, I will pour out My Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions; your old men will dream dreams." Acts 2:17

"I need to meet with you," said the man from England during a break at a conference overseas. We walked outside to have a coffee break and sat down. "God wants you to know that He removed your finances in order to reserve His reward for you in Heaven. He has done you a great service."

I was shocked. I'd never met this gentleman before. How would he have known I had lost a half million dollars in the previous few years, virtually all of my financial net worth, to some unusual calamities? We shared for the next several minutes.

That week, during our lunch and dinner times, I had been enjoying wonderful, juicy oranges from this island in the Mediterranean Sea. It came time for the gentleman and I to conclude our coffee break. We bowed in prayer. As we prayed, the man began to describe a picture he was seeing in his mind.

"I see a picture of a large orange tree. The tree is full of large, ripened oranges. They are beginning to fall to the ground. You are the tree!"

Again, I looked at the man with shock and amazement, and now tears in my eyes.

"You are the third person in three years that has had a similar vision during a prayer time like this. The first two people were also strangers to me."

I went back into the meeting rejoicing that God could be so personal in my life. He used a servant who had gone through similar trials to supernaturally speak a word of encouragement in a way that I would know it was God who was speaking.

There are times when God supernaturally speaks into our lives. He does this to demonstrate His power, His love, and His intimacy with us. Do not be surprised if God sends one of His messengers to speak into your life when you need it most. Be open to how God might want to speak into your life today.

"He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers." (Psalm 1:3)
