Gospel Life Community Newsletter
September 22, 2010
Greetings!

When one surveys the vastness of the universe, one can only feel an awe in the presence of a
an Almighty God, who, despite our absolute insignificance in the array of His creations, still
cares for us enough to send His Son to take our place and thus, redeem us and make us His
own children.

May the rest of this week continue to bring blessing upon blessing to all His children.

Pastor Hansel Completes Sermon Series

 "The Ordinary Christian Life"

The last in a series of three sermons revolving around "The Ordinary Christian Life" will be heard
this coming Sunday, as Pastor Hansel Orzame speaks during the Good News Hour which starts at 11:00 a.m.

The first in the series given two Sundays ago dealt with salvation through grace alone. The second one
given last Sunday dealt with "the intimacy of transformation".  We await with anticipation his third and
final sermon of the series this coming Sunday.

Pastor Hansel has caught the interest of all age groups as he speaks to the young as well as to the
more seasoned congregants at Gospel Life. He is not only a Youth Pastor, but is also the Associate
Minister for Nurture at Gospel Life Community.

Follow Up On This Weekend's Activities

Strategy Session

Saturday, September 25, marks the third brainstorming session for those who are participating in
laying out the framework for the future of Gospel Life Community.

The meeting starts at 9:00 a.m. and generally ends around 11:00 a.m.

The group appears to grow larger each succeeding session.  This meeting is open to all.

Combined Meeting of the Los Angeles/Glendale SGFs

The Small Group Fellowships in the Los Angeles and Glendale areas will meet together
on Saturday, September 25,  at 1:00 p.m.

This is a monthly activity conducted every last Saturday of the month to help promote unity and
intimacy between the different groups.  These small groups are those led by Medy and Irma Alcaraz,
Ademir and Kay Pasco, and Fred and Nita Alejandro.

Although it is understandable that not everyone may be able to attend every monthly meeting of the
group, each one is encouraged to attend at every opportunity. Gospel Life Community members
from the local area (such as Glendale, Burbank, Pasadena, Los Angeles, Panorama City, etc.)
are all welcome to these gatherings.

Tipping Points of Grace

The final lecture for this series is next Sunday,  September 26, at 2:00 p.m.  The topic of discussion is about the state
of the dead:  "Asleep in the Graveyard."

Invite your friends and family members who would like to hear the biblical reasons for our beliefs. The
last several sessions have always shown why certain doctrinal issues in  certain other churches are flawed from
a biblical perspective.

Devotional

God has reserved a priceless inheritance for his children. It is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay. 1 Peter 1:4 (NLT)

"You are far richer than you realize."

The New Testament gives great emphasis to our rich "inheritance." As children in God's family we get to share in the family fortune, that everything God has belongs to us (Galatians 4:7). The apostle Paul adds, "I want you to realize what a rich and glorious inheritance he has given to his people" (Ephesians 1:18 NLT).

What benefits do we inherit?

As children in God's family we are given "the riches ... of his grace ... kindness ... patience ... glory ... wisdom ... power ... and mercy" (Ephesians 1:7; Romans 2:4; 9:23; 11:33; Ephesians 3:16; 2:4). We also inherit eternal life and God puts his Spirit inside us now as a guarantee of all that is to come.

What an inheritance! You are far richer than you realize, which is why Paul could write with confidence: "My God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19 NIV).

Your eternal inheritance is priceless, pure, permanent, and protected; no one can take it from you. It can't be destroyed by war, a poor economy, or disaster. This inheritance, not retirement, is what you should be looking forward to; retirement is a shortsighted goal.
Greeting Cards
Featuring beautiful Philippine Scenery

Knowing we have mentioned this item several times previously, it is only a reminder that these greeting cards
with no text inside (you can write your own) are now available and are being distributed among members of
the Small Group Fellowships.

Those who are not attending any one of the SGFs  may still obtain these cards from the church staff and
as many as you can get and redistribute for a donation of $10 per pack of 12 cards is appreciated.
We estimate that if each family took care of between 15 and 20 packs of these cards, we will not have
any leftovers from this first printing.

Remember that this is part of our fund raising for Gospel Life's missions.  We are grateful to Johnny
and Nellie Chua for advancing the printing and packaging costs of this project.
