More than 25 large local industries/organizations will hear the "elevator pitch" of small business Chamber members October 15th in the first Owensboro Buys It! expo. Tomorrow is your next opportunity to attend a Lunch'n'Learn to learn how to build your own pitch and qualify to attend the expo. Nearly 40 Chamber members have already qualified by attending the June 11th Lunch'n'Learn (photo).

The Lunch'n'Learn will be held from noon to 1 p.m. at the Commerce Center. More than 80 small businesses have registered already. Click here to learn more and to register for Owensboro Buys It!

The Chamber Ambassadors will meet this Thursday from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Commerce Center. Reservations are required by noon on Wednesday. Call 926-1860 or click here.

Applications will be accepted through July 17th for the first class of Emerge Owensboro, a new nine-month curriculum that will expose participants to community issues and teach leadership skills. Chamber members are encouraged to apply.

A full-day program titled "Looking Out, Looking In, Looking Ahead" will start the program on September 10th. Most classes will consist of half-day sessions on the second Thursday of each month through May 2010. Participants are also expected to attend the monthly Chamber of Commerce Rooster Booster Breakfast. Class members will have a number of required activities, including a group project.
