Chamber's No. 1 legislative priority added to special session
The Kentucky General Assembly will go into special
session next week, and Governor Steve Beshear has
added the infrastructure authority issue to the call. The
billif passedwould help provide a
mechanism to build new Ohio River bridges, including
the Interstate 69 bridge near Henderson. This topic
was the Chamber's No. 1 policy priority during the
2009 regular legislative session.
The special session call also includes a broad
economic incentives bill that would provide tax
incentives to small business expansion, among other
benefits. The bill was sponsored during the 2009
legislative session by Tommy Thompson, local state
representative.
