Unique Teen2Teen Programs Launch at TAU in October

     

TAU is proud to launch its Teen2Teen program where teen artists share their passion and experience with tweens aged 8 through 12. Fall 2012 classes meet weekly for six week and include the following courses:

 

Abstract Layering (Begins Wed 10/3/12) - Students will work on layering and texture on abstract styled art with acrylic paint and other fun tools for a more unique art experience.

 

Teen2Teen Film (Begins Wed 9/19/12)  Students will learn how to film and produce their own professional grade videos.

 

Magic! (Begins 10/31/12) - Students will be taught how to perform mind-blowing effects that will amaze all!

 

Class prices are very affordable making it easy for tweens and their families to try a class, have fun and learn new skills from enthuasitic teen instructors working side-by-side with our talented veteran adult instructors.

Wide Variety of Preschool Offerings Spark Creativity

TAU offers a wide variety of art, dance & movement classes for preschoolers ages 2 through 5. Register for a single classes or take advantage of our popular COMBO classes where preschoolers can take up to three classes back to back - allowing parents a larger block of time to relax or run errands. Preschool classes have ongoing registration through September, so please give us a call to schedule a time to drop in and try a class.

TAU's Dance Performance Company Awarded 1st Place in Fall Festival

TAU's Dance Performance Company received 1st Place in the Children's Division in the City of Louisville's Fall Festival Parade Labor Day Weekend.  The 20 members of the Performance Company are dancers between the ages of 11 through 18 who perform at a variety of local community events as well as at TAU's annual fall and spring recitals.

 

The Performance Company was also accepted to perform at Walt Disney World in Florida in November and are busy preparing for their performance on the "Water Side Stage" in Downtown Disney.

Auditions Completed for 2nd - 6th Grade Musical Theater

 

Congratulations to the ninety 2nd - 6th graders who auditioned and were selected for TAU's Musical Theater. Three casts will perform the production, The Little Mermaid, and rehearsals are underway. TAU's popular Musical Theater productions are high quality and allow young actors exposure to professional sets, makeup, costumes, sound, lights and stage.

 

The 2nd - 6th Grade Musical Theater is directed by Betsy Keating, an experienced theater professional who loves the creative energy and excitement that children bring to every rehearsal and show.

Tapestry Theatre, a collaborative project of TAU and CenterStage Theatre Company will be performing "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown." Performances at the Louisville Arts Center feature actors ages 10 - 18 with disabilities paired with TAU youth actors without disabilities as mentors.
