OMB Offers Webinar Training Materials on Recovery Act Reporting

Training materials and audio files from the Office of Management and Budget's series of webinars to review the reporting requirements of Recovery Act are now available online. Webinar topics included "Basic Principles and Requirements of Recovery Act Recipient Reporting," "Reporting on Jobs Creation Estimates by Recipients," and "Data Quality Requirements," among others.

OMB announced the webinar series in early July and the webinars were held July 20 to 23. Click here for more information about the Recovery Act.
Mandatory Use of E-Verify Required for Certain Contractors By Fall 2009

Beginning September 8, 2009, certain government contractors must utilize the E-Verify program to confirm their employees' ability to work legally in the United States, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced earlier this month.

The rule will only affect federal contractors who are awarded a new contract after September 8, 2009, that includes the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) E-Verify clause (73 FR 67704).

E-Verify is a free online system that compares information from employees' I-9 forms to federal government databases in order to confirm their employment eligibility.  Click here to read the DHS press release about E-Verify or access the E-Verify site by visiting this link.
