The Employees Community Fund made a grant of $40,000 to Cascade Valley Hospital Foundation, located in Arlington, for the purchase of a portable Ultrasound unit for their new ER. Cascade Valley Hospital recently completed construction of a new Emergency Room facility that increased the capacity of their treatment rooms from 6 to 16.  The new ER includes rooms that are specific for cardiac care, pediatrics, OBGYN and bariatric patients.

A CT scanner is located in the new facility, which provides immediate access to imaging technology.  Cascade Valley Hospital was in need of a portable Ultrasound.  Ultrasound is used daily to quickly and accurately diagnose patients suffering severe internal trauma.  The use of a portable Ultrasound has become standard in hospitals around the country.  One of the most critical uses is the ability to perform the Focused Assessment with Sonography in Trauma or FAST.

Due to a publishing error on the County Webpage, the Snohomish County Shorelines Management Program Public Hearings have been extended to Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at 1:30 pm in the Jackson Board Room.  This Ordinance No. 10-058 relates to the Snohomish County Shorelines of the State; repealing the Snohomish County Shoreline Management Master Program and Chapter 30.44 SCC; adopting a new Snohomish County Shoreline Management Program including environment designation maps; adopting shoreline administrative procedures and shoreline regulations and amending chapter 4.28 and several chapters of Title 30 SCC. This hearing is continued from September 1 and 22, 2010.  Public Testimony is closed.
