BOEING EMPLOYEES DONATE TO ARLINGTON HOSPITAL

The Employees Community Fund made a grant of $40,000 to Cascade Valley Hospital Foundation, located in Arlington, for the purchase of a portable Ultrasound unit for their new ER. Cascade Valley Hospital recently completed construction of a new Emergency Room facility that increased the capacity of their treatment rooms from 6 to 16.  The new ER includes rooms that are specific for cardiac care, pediatrics, OBGYN and bariatric patients.

A CT scanner is located in the new facility, which provides immediate access to imaging technology.  Cascade Valley Hospital was in need of a portable Ultrasound.  Ultrasound is used daily to quickly and accurately diagnose patients suffering severe internal trauma.  The use of a portable Ultrasound has become standard in hospitals around the country.  One of the most critical uses is the ability to perform the Focused Assessment with Sonography in Trauma or FAST.
