After careful consideration, the Build Committee has decided to take the challenge and make this year's
Women Build an Energy Star build.
We will follow a number of technical specifications and buy energy efficient building supplies, products and appliances as part of Habitat's committment to the environment and to the families who purchase Habitat homes. If you are an Energy Star certified volunteer, please let us know! Contact Gisele at volunteer@habitatncr.com

Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life is an opportunity to get together with family and friends and celebrate cancer survivors; remember loved ones lost to cancer; and fight back in the hope of finding a cure for this terrible disease.

Habitat NCR has partnered with the organizers of Relay For Life in Orleans, Nepean and Stittsville to collect aluminum cans at their Relay For Life events. Stay tuned for more details!

House fire brings tragedy on Caldwell Avenue
As you may have read or heard over the past week, a Community Housing complex caught fire on Monday night. One family lost their youngest son, and many other families are left without a place to live and without a roof over their heads.
You can help families affected by the fire by:
  • Making a financial donation: cheques can be dropped off or mailed to Carlington Community and Health Services, 900 Merivale Rd, Ottawa, Ontario K1Z 5Z8
  • Clothing and footwear: can be delivered to The StrongHold at 1465 Caldwell unit 102 until 4 pm or to Carlington Community and Health Services at 900 Merivale Rd today and tomorrow until 8:00 PM
  • Furniture donations: please call Sister Lorena at the Family donations - 613-728-1268 make arrangements.
  • For further information please call Janet Bowes 613-722-4000 ext 266.

Your help is gratefully appreciated.

From the Build, to Urbana, to the
100 Hole Golf Marathon, I hope you will find a way to get involved with Habitat for Humanity. Your time, your effort and your donations help us to make a difference every dayin the lives of families in your community.

Thank you for believing that everyone deserves a simple, decent place to live.

Sincerely,

Habitat for Humanity NCR
