"What's new with the build?"

When it comes to frequently asked questions, this one takes the cake!

Habitat NCR has acquired land at the corner of Tillbury Avenue and Cole Street in the west end of Ottawa thanks to a generous donation of land from Ottawa residents Anand & Saroj Aggarwal.

In addition to the Tillbury Avenue build in 2008, the affiliate plans to buy back an existing Habitat home from a family moving to Toronto. Erecta Steel has generously sponsored the renovation of this home so that it can be made new again for another Habitat family!

Featured Volunteer: Dave York

Dave York
Dave, a.k.a. Sarge, a.k.a. The Alcan Man, is the quintessential Habitat for Humanity volunteer!

Dave's first experience with Habitat NCR was on the Pidgeon House & OPPI House build site. Dave was intrigued and began involving himself in other areas such as answering questions at Trade Shows, promoting the Alcan Program and picking up tens of thousands of cans from partners around the city. He is also a member of the Family Selection and Communications Committees!

We owe many thanks to Dave for his hard work and dedication, for the time he spends working on Habitat projects, and for his willingness to get involved and help out in any way possible!
