Greetings!
We continue to celebrate how the Lord is moving in this church family in big and small ways. This from Clif Hawkins: A recent gift to me of a Bi-pap machine from an anonymous All Saints donor leaves me wanting to express my thanks in the way of a testimony. However I believe that 1st Corinthians 13:13 comes very close to encompassing all my gratitude because of the love this family as well as All Saints and its members have shown to me and it seems to me to be best described by this verse. All Saints has seen that I have been served at my home the gift of Holy Communion every Sunday. Again this wonderful Holy Sacrament has blessed me in this last part of my journey through life and has drawn me closer to my Lord and Savior. I want the All Saints LEM servers to know how much this has helped me see the love that you have unconditionally provided to help Beth and I make it through some very difficult times. After my daughter's death and the miraculous survival of the five day coma at home while on Hospice, I was not given very long to live; but, God has kept me alive for some reason. I feel that the prayers of the people of All Saints have sustained me and now these prayers are being supplemented by the gift of the bi-pap machine which will scrub my blood of the excess carbon dioxide and help keep me alive. Again the unconditional love expressed toward me by the gifts of the bi-pap, All Saints providing the sacrament of Holy Communion and the prayers make me feel so extremely loved and blessed because the bi-pap machine keeps me alive physically and the Holy Communion and prayers keeps me alive spiritually. I also want to thank all of the visitors who have come to pray with me during my many hospitalizations. I have been praying for the gift of love and these four examples of the Bi-pap gift, Holy Communion, prayer and visitation have demonstrated "love" as described in 1st Corinthians 13:13.
Thank you so very much for this gift of life in the bi-pap machine and these gifts of faith, hope and love; I am humbled and blessed with the knowledge that the greatest of these is love, which you have poured out to me in so many ways.
"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. The greatest of these is love." - I Corinthians 13:13
Thank you, Clif. We know you are worshipping with us in spirit. For the rest of us, I look forward to gathering together on Sunday as we celebrate all that the Lord has done and continues to do in and through His church.
