Greetings!

Counting Our Blessings and Breakthrough

This not too long ago from Rick Gaskin...I was doing some long  delayed yard work Saturday and in the process of emptying a wheelbarrow 30 yards into the woods behind our house,k I got my stroke impaired left foot entangled and lost my balance.  I grabbed a tree that turned out to be rotten and the whole thing broke off at ground level.  I fell hard on my right shoulder (the good one since the stroke).  I heard the pop that I knew was my shoulder becoming dislocated.

Lying on the ground with excruciating pain I realized that it would be hours before Terry would miss me and even then she would not be able to maneuver her walker down the narrow path to get to me.  I tried to get up using just my left arm to support me but after three attempts realized I cuold not do it by myself.  I prayed for help.  I decided to just roll to a tree about 10 yards away that I could perhaps use to pull myself up.  It did not occur to me until I began the first roll that it would really hurt every time I rolled over that dislocated shoulder.  On that very first roll I heard another pop as my shoulder joint slipped back into place.  I made it to the tree and was finally able to get up.

I postponed the rest of the yard work.  Two days later I am recovering nicely, Praise God.  Later this week I am building an Ebenezer altar on the spot where I fell so I do not forget that "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."

A lucky roll?  I don't think so either, Rick.  Thank you Lord for the way you protect and provide and get the glory.

I look forward to seeing you Sunday,

Rob

Sunday Celebrations on the Beach

July 31, 6-9 PM in Myrtle BeachSummer Sunday Celebrations

The rain tried to spoil the evening with the warm-up band from Barefoot and the speaker Adrian Despres getting rained out.  But nothing was going to stop Sidewalk Prophets from giving a GREAT show.  That really pleased the 1000 or so wet but patient fans.  This week Sayward Elliott brings the message and David Hays leads some present and past members of the All Saints Praise Team as the warm-up band.  Come on out and support our church as they minister to the Kingdom.  Bring your chairs or blankets, a cooler, and hearts ready to worship.

Gently Used Clothes Closet Begins

Recognizing our community's need and the joy associated with the used clothing previously made available through Give a Kid a Chance, All Saints is continuing this clothing outreach as a fixed ministry on our campus. With details still unfolding, we are ready to collect gently used adult and children's clothing (no purses or shoes please). A marked collection bin is in the ACTS Building. Volunteers are also needed to help prepare the clothing. Please call or email Andrea Young (650-7291) for details or to volunteer.
