As you enter into this July 4th weekend take time to remember that our freedom is rooted in our Lord. Our founding fathers had learned well from our heavenly Father. And as we gather with family and friends and celebrate this exceptional freedom we enjoy as Americans, pray for our soldiers, thank a veteran, remember our fallen; for as Jesus shows us on the Cross, freedom is never free.
I offer the following testimony of breakthrough from Vicki Wythe. As you read, take note of the freedom offered to us in and through the Holy Spirit. Are you walking in this freedom?
As an Ohio transplant about two months ago, I was feeling quite alone and despondent. Fears and irrational thoughts were dominating my life. As a result, I reached out to All Saints and was heartily welcomed and embraced. Through helping at the Island Café, I have met many fine people, and my experiences there plus meetings with clergy, prayer teams, Connect Cards, and Sunday and Wednesday services have brought the Holy Spirit to the forefront of my daily life.
Since coming to All Saints, I have repeatedly been humbled and blessed by God's love in too many ways to mention here, but the following are just two of my prayers that have been answered that I would like to share with others who need encouragement.
Immediately after moving to Pawleys Island I had a potentially urgent medical issue arise that was going to need attention, as I am a cancer survivor. I put off finding a physician for two months, but while attending a Healing Service I prayed with a prayer team that had reported breakthroughs before. The Holy Spirit is always with us on Wednesdays. The day after the service, my problem began to disappear and within two days, it was gone! Thanks be to God for casting out that illness!
Another prayer that the Lord has answered is that he sent a buyer for our home in Ohio, which had been for sale over two and one-half years with no offers. In spite of the gloomy economic reports of the past two weeks, the home is now suddenly in contract and that burden has been banished from my life. Hallelujah, indeed!
Let me encourage everyone to use those Connect Cards and call upon the clergy and prayer teams to bring the Holy Spirit into your life! God's peace be with us all. - Vicki
"Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit."
(II Corinthians 3:17-18)
I look forward to worshipping with you on Sunday. Come ready to celebrate our freedom in Christ Jesus.
