Cheryl Hamond joining national YMCA delegation to Haiti
 | | Cheryl Hamond |
Mankato YMCA Program Coordinator Cheryl Hamond will join a delegation of national YMCA leaders on a research and activities expedition to Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
This month, Hamond and 12 other Y professionals will be studying how the YMCA is responding to the reconstruction and rehabilitation of Haiti. Hamond, who coordinates the Brother/Sister and Youth in Government programs at the Y, was chosen through a very competitive selection process.
It's a "working experience" leadership program -- heavy on the participants immersing themselves in the areas devastated by the 2010 earthquake that took place a year ago this month.
"I feel confident in the leadership that is behind this program," Hamond said, "and I am very excited for this opportunity to stretch and grow as a leader."

And if you can't get early, remember that the West High School parking lot is available as long as school is not in session. |
