ControlCase Launches No-Risk Data Discovery Managed Service for Hotels

Starting in February, hotels can download and license the ControlCase Data Discovery Scanner to scan for unencrypted PAN and other restricted authentication information (Track Data, CVV, CV2, etc) to eliminate the risk of data loss and exposure and PCI DSS non-compliance. Cisco's Wireless Upgrade to extend beyond PCI Compliance Requirements

In January, CISCO announced the security update for its entire portfolio of 802.11n wireless access points solutions. This is to be a free update for existing customers and is positioned to help organizations that support wireless within their processing environments to acheive and reportedly exceed PCI DSS 2.0 requirements for wireless security. According to Cisco, 29 percent of companies use wireless networking to transmit cardholder data. The numbers are higher in retail, at 33 percent, and in financial services, at 35 percent. It is believe that half of all companies use quarterly scanning, physical inspection and other manual security methods because they're perceived as less expensive. Click here for full article.
