The 'Gartner Security & Risk Management Summit 2010' to be held on June 21 - 23, is the premier conference and meeting place for IT and business executives responsible for creating, implementing, and managing a proactive and comprehensive IT strategy for information security, risk management, compliance, and business continuity management.

Massachusetts Privacy Regulation
 
On 1 March 2010, the Massachusetts Standards for the Protection of Personal Information of Residents of the Commonwealth, became enforceable through the Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation (OCABR). The regulation applies to personal information of residents of Massachusetts and is expected to be enforced even if a company is not physically located in the Commonwealth.
 
Massachusetts new regulation makes information security a regulatory requirement. With the Massachusetts regulation and possible look-alikes in the future, organizations will need to move from a position of risk management to one of compliance with information security and privacy rules. [More]
