JJ NEELY
JJ Neely is the proud father of Hannah (6) and Calvin (3). With the help of his wife, Mary, he is able to balance life's priorities and do more. Coach & Athlete JJ Neely

As a former national level competitive swimmer he was enticed into the triathlon community by a friend. One day on a run with his friend, he expressed an interest in buying a big screen TV and was told to forget the TV and buy a bike. He took the advice and as he embraced the triathlon lifestyle, his eagerness to compete again grew and he soon found himself racing again. With two Ironman finishes and multiple 70.3 races on his resume, JJ also enjoys participating in local triathlons throughout Ontario. One of his greatest accomplishments so far, has been qualifying and participating in the 2008 70.3 World Championships is Clearwater, Florida.
JJ's commitment and enthusiasm for the sport continues to develop, as he is currently the President and Swim Coach for the Mississauga Triathlon Club and Kelso Open Water Swim Club. After becoming a Triathlon Canada Certified Coach, JJ created Focus in Training, a coaching company that allows him to share his knowledge, experience and love for triathlon with others.
JJ does more because he can. With the help of 7SYSTEMS, he enjoys being a healthy role model for his children, students, athletes and friends. Looking to be faster after forty, this triathlete has his sights set on qualifying for the World Championships in the near future.
KYLE JONES
Kyle at Edmonton World Cup
 |
Kyle has been a long time user of 7SYSTEMS and is a member of both our 2009 and 2010 Pro Teams. We've featured Kyle before. So this time when Jasper Blake caught up with this up-and-coming triathlon star in Victoria, he asked him 7 specific questions.
Here are Kyle's answers.
1. What accomplishment are you most proud of in your sporting career?
KJ: 4th place Richards Bay World Cup
2. What is the best advice anyone has ever given you?
KJ: Do what you love.
3. What motivates you to get up every day and kick your own ass?
KJ: The Olympic Games

|
7SYSTEMS' 2010 Pro Team includes 6 Olympians, including 3 gold medalists. We believe that more Olympic gold medalists use 7SYSTEMS than any other Canadian nutritional supplement...and we don't pay them a dime to do it. Athletes use 7SYSTEMS because it works!

Coach's Corner - Static vs Dynamic Stretching |
|
It provides some interesting perspectives and even hope for those of us who stretch very rarely. The article advocated dynamic, or active, stretching. So we wanted to share some additional insights on stretching.
There are 2 main categories of stretching: passive and active.
Passive stretching is when you use an outside force other than your own muscle to move a joint or limb beyond its active range of motion, to put your body into a position that you couldn't do by yourself (such as when you lean into a wall, or have a partner push you into a deeper stretch). Unfortunately, this is the most common form of stretching used.
Active stretching eliminates outside force and it's adverse effects from stretching procedures. It involves actively using your own muscles to achieve range of motion; as the antagonist (opposite) muscle contracts, the agonist (target) muscle groups lengthen and relax. This is a safe, effective, and recommended method of stretching.
