  April 2009
Hey Y'all! I'm writing this in great spirits, as we've just held a LINC steering committee meeting where smart people were sharing good ideas! The LINC steering committee is a group of artists, business folks, higher education instructors, community leaders, and others who advise the Arts Commission on the implementation of our LINC initiative. We gather every few months and I'm always recharged by our visits. Today we were talking about the Artist Ventures grant program, which will be available early next year to those interested in launching an arts-based business venture.

You'll learn more about Artist Ventures, professional development, and more at the retreat in May. Moreover, you'll have lots of time to get to know fellow artists and re-imagine your future as an artist in South Carolina. We can't wait to see you there! Follow the great big link above to learn more and register!

The South Carolina Arts Commission is the state agency charged with creating a thriving arts environment that benefits all South Carolinians, regardless of their location or circumstances. Created by the South Carolina General Assembly in 1967, the Arts Commission works to
increase public participation in the arts by providing services, grants and leadership initiatives in three areas: arts education, community arts development and artist development. Headquartered in Columbia, S. C., the Arts Commission is funded by the state of South Carolina and by the federal government through the National Endowment for the Arts.
