And I couldn't be more prouder of my team!
Unfortunately there is way too much hype in this business. Celebrity stylists often work more with publicists then they actually work on hair. You will see their quotes commenting on celebrity hairstyles and claiming that they are a certain celebrity's stylist. The problem is they constantly share the names of the celebrities that they style.
We have all fallen victim to the old "voted best of..." or "rated number 1 by..." or "endorsed by .....". Recently we were visited by two young ladies that had just come from a New York City stylist rated 2009 colourist of the year. By whom I do not know who gave him that rating but none the less they could not have been more disappointed after leaving his salon. Not only after spending over $700 each to have not him, but his assistants do all the work, but one of the clients hair is beyond repairing in the immediate future. When they went back to discuss their dissatisfaction they were interrupting his pedicure and were informed that he should have charged him 10 times more then he did.
This is not uncommon with celebrity stylists, but why do we let this level of customer support continue. We all have personal preferences about where we like to eat and who we like to do our hair. Sometimes people just don't click or you have a bad day and things don't work out the way you want, but you should never let the status or title of someone persuade you to settle for less.
The flip side to this is don't fall for the "but wait there is more" routine. If it sounds too good to be true than it probably is. A special is good but if it seems like you are getting away without paying then you have to worry about what they are skimping on or corners they are cutting to make a profit. Are they substituting products? Are they using less products then what is required and not giving you the results promised? Did you go in for the advertised special only to be told that you have to do way much more or be charged much much more?
We are proud of the fact that we started 5 years ago with specific systems in place to avoid all of these pitfalls to bad customer service and our reputation for both quality of service and customer service has been on the rise every month. Each month we have seen over 100 new clients looking for better service and they found a home at Spa85. And as always we have all of you to thank.
