Once upon a time there a hairstylist in London changed the way people looked at hair. He made the bob infamous in the sixties and created many great styles for celebrities such as Mia Farrows' look in "Rosemary's Baby". He built an empire of stylists through a dedication to systems and education. His name is Vidal Sassoon, and he is an Icon in the world of hairstylists.
Unfortunately, like many great brands, over the years his image became watered down. His products became mass produced and ineffective and over the past 40 years his message got lost in translation.
To us purists' we have never forgotten what he has done for us and we have adopted many of his systems making him invaluable to us. Imagine how happy we were when we found out that his son, Elan Sassoon, is bringing back the core values of his fathers' work, and we get to be a part of this great new movement.
New products are introduced to us every month. Most of them are without substance and are simply a marketing company hawking some celebrity stylists name. When a company proves to us that their values are aligned with our values and their focus is not to be a super brand but instead a tool for our salon to gain education and allow us to enhance the work we do by preserving the colour we produce and aid in the style we provide we attach ourselves to that brand.
What makes this product even better is that it is 100% biodegradable, alcohol free and parabin free. This product is going to change the way you love your hair and you can only find it at Spa85.
If you you are not following us on our facebook and twitter pages you may have misses our recycling announcement. In our continual efforts to give back to our community and help make the world a better place for all, we have contacted a non profit organization that recycles hair into woven mats that help soak up oil spills throughout the globe. We will continually collect the hair from our haircuts and ship them wherever needed. With just the simple action of getting a haircut at Spa85 you too can be a part this great effort.
Naila is back and she has increased her hours. Her new schedule will now include Tuesdays 10-5, Wednesdays 10 - 5, Thursdays 10-5 and Saturdays 10-5.
We are always looking for hair models for our upcoming hair makeovers. If you or someone you know is interested or in need of a brand new look please email a picture to makemeover@spa85.com. If you are chosen you will be given a complimentary hair style makeover and styling products. A value worth upwards of about $300. Please only serious submissions only. If you have already sent in your entry please allow us some time to sort through all submissions. We have received some great candidates and we are scheduling them as they are received.
