Greetings!
Let us tell you about the phenomenal meal we had last night! |

The dinner started off with a new menu item that is sure to be the main attraction at the Riverview. It's called the Hot Rocks. Your wait staff deliver to your table a Japanese style fire box with a hot rock placed on top of the fire. You can get either Scallops or beef. Accompanied with a sweet dipping sauce, you sear your food on the rocks at your table and enjoy. The flavor from the sweet sauce and seared food are out of this world. This also makes for a very romantic style dining experience.
The Hot Rocks were followed by a non stop chain of appetizers. The chef presented us with jumbo lump crab cakes. I have never had crab cakes as filled with crab meat as these were. They were perfectly seared and seasoned and served with a lemon aioli. Incredible! We then feasted on the Thai Calamari. Crispy fried tender Calamari cooked just right, served with a sweet chili glaze.
As the night progressed so did the food. Hand made stuffed raviolis in a white truffle sauce were delicate and delightful. We also had Lobster carpaccio, delicately poach lobster tails sliced thin. The Tuna Tartare was exquisite, served with a sesame ginger vinaigrette and avocado. Next up was a crispy fried Chicken wrap that we then wrapped in Boston lettuce with a mint leaf, julienned carrots and a chili romesco sauce. The crispness of the carrots and the sweetness from the chili sauce was out of this world.
For the main course Glory enjoyed the Filet and Lobster tail and I had a fabulous 20oz ribeye that could not have been cooked more perfect. The waiter supplied a perfect cabernet to match the meal. The end of the evening finished with a bang! Not literally of course but in a perfect baked chocolate cake filled with delicious molten chocolate and accompanied with peanut butter ice cream. Appropriately named the chocolate bomb, this dessert did not disappoint!.
The Riverview recently underwent renovations and now a a very open dining room with very comfortable booths perfect for large parties or intimate dining. Peter also explained that they will be adding lounges on the deck this summer for a very comfortable lounging area.
If you haven't been to the Riverview you have to go. If you haven't be back in a while now is the time to return. We will definitely be adding the Riverview to our summer dinner destinations this summer.
