Justice Bus Brings Urban Lawyers to Rural Communities in Need
|
CRPE teamed up with OneJustice™, a group that increases access to legal help for underserved Californians, to host a Justice Bus® tour. CRPE's Equal Justice Works Fellow Camille Pannu worked for nine months to pair fourteen volunteer attorneys with six San Joaquin Valley groups working on socially just and environmentally sustainable community/economic development programs.
The July 20th Justice Bus® trip was the first of its kind in the nation. The attorneys who visited the Valley will help communities incorporate non-profits, draft lease agreements, and gain access to resources for essential infrastructure. The trip will be highlighted at Equal Justice Works's Annual Gala on October 25th. Read full story

July 15th marked the 50th birthday of our late founder. Last month we had the pleasure of sending out a newsletter filled with personal stories from those most touched by Luke. If you missed it, please take a moment to view it here. To learn more about the Luke Cole Memorial Fellowship visit our social fundraiser.
