Promotes Luke Cole Memorial Fellowship
On March 9th CRPE hosted a luncheon with Ralph Nader and Chief of Cal/OSHA, Ellen Widess, to support the Luke Cole Memorial Fellowship. Allies, friends, and family came together to celebrate the life and work of CRPE's late co-founder, Luke Cole.  For more information about the Fellowship, visit our website  and check out pictures from the event here. CRPE is accepting applications  for the Fellowship through April 15th.

Delano Residents Fight Harmful City Proposal

Earlier this year, the Delano City Council proposed collecting residential utility fees in lump sum payments, instead of collecting monthly fees, in order to recover lost costs from unpaid bills.  This could result in rate increases  and puts residents who miss a payment at risk of losing their homes.  Outraged at the effect this would have on low-income residents, CRPE joined with the community to fight back.  Together we flooded the City Council with emails, phone calls, faxes and Facebook messages.  On March 19th the City Council meeting was buzzing with energy around the issue...  full story 

Join our April 21st Environmental Justice Tour!
Last April the EJ tour visited a womens group in Allensworth.
Celebrate Earth Day with CRPE on our spring Environmental Justice Tour of the San Joaquin Valley.  The tour is open to the public, and transportation is provided from the Bay Area to the Valley. Tour stops are scheduled in Wasco, Allensworth, and Pixely where we will visit with rural communities at the heart of California's industrial agricultural production and meet with individuals who have dedicated their lives to improving the Valley. This Month at CRPE
-3/10 The Allensworth Progressive Association hosted a community resource fair which brought residents together to plant a youth garden and provided other valuable community services and resources.

-3/21 CRPE applauded the announcement that the 
makers of methyl iodide are pulling the cancer-causing strawberry pesticide off the U.S. market.

-3/24 CRPE hosted a Housing and Public Benefits Legal Clinic to provide free advice on housing issues.
