 Greetings!
The eclipse period has finally ended - where are you now in relation to where you were at Summer Solstice on June 21st when the eclipse period began? It has been an active few months and you are likely in a very different place internally, and maybe externally, than you were at the beginning of the summer.
As we approach the New Moon in Leo, go within and ask, "Where can I shine my Light? Where can I express myself fully?" In our culture there is tremendous pressure to conform and fit in so that others are comfortable. However, with the New Moon opposing the "Age of Aquarius" planetary combo of Jupiter, Chiron, and Neptune, the call is to step up and be who you came here to be - this is your contribution to humanity and the greater good!
On Saturday, Aug 22nd the Sun enters Virgo - the conscientious, detail-oriented sign of service. This means you need to get your life in order, especially before Mercury goes retrograde on Sept. 6th/7th and what a perfect energy to do it with! Practical Virgo brings your bright ideas down to earth and tends to the details so that your information is organized and grounded in reality.
Pay attention to your choices, decisions and the events that occur in your life from now through Sept 6th because you'll be retracing your steps, going back over this territory again when Mercury retrogrades in Sept.
We are currently experiencing a Grand Cross, which carries powerful energies that can redirect or reshapre your plans, and Sept brings another Saturn/Uranus opposition that can disrupt the status quo. Change, change, change! Hold your vision and be flexibile as you go with the flow. Practice curiosity rather than judgment and find ways to stay connected to your Higher Self and others during challenging moments. We are being expanded, so prepare to be BIG!

New Moon in Leo ~ Aug 20, '09

We greet the New Moon early on Thursday morning in the dynamic, "CEO" sign of Leo. The New Moon is the time for new beginnings, to start anything that you want to create or increase in your life. This is the beginning of the monthly lunar cycle, so ride the wave and allow the energy to support you - it's time to plant seeds, especially before Mercury goes retrograde. Leo is ruled by the Sun, which is the center of our solar system. It is the sign of play, creativity, self-expression, romance, and circumstances in which you are the leader or take center stage. Self-expression is vital to experiencing a feeling of wholeness, so find a way to express your authentic self and yes, be creative! For artists, this is a perfect time to start a new project and for you shy types, create something in a way that feels safe for you - but please express yourself! I highly recommend the extraordinary book, The Artist's Way, by Julia Cameron for everybody - a perfect way to awaken your creativity and discover parts of yourself that have been buried. And even if you think you aren't creative or that you aren't artistic - what if that's a false belief and you have gifts that you haven't yet discovered? It happens all the time, but only if you are willing to say "yes" to trying something new - or something old once again. Romance is a Leo activity - the courtship, the wooing, the seduction, as Leo loves the chase! Use your imagination to design a creative scenario to wow that special someone, even if you've been together for years. Allow your partner to do the same for you (express your need for creative attention!). And if there's no one currently in your romantic life, do something special for your Self that you would love to have a partner do for you. Call it in and practice receiving so you'll be ready for it when it comes! Have you been working too hard? If you are in need of playtime, make that a priority now. What can you do to have some fun? Play and having fun is often devalued in our culture as we diligently pursue achievement and success. Recover your childlike sense of wonder and remember what you used to do for fun when you were young. Is there something that you'd love to do again? Create the space and give yourself permission to be playful! The New Moon in Leo asks you to be the "King" or "Queen" of your own Universe, so speak up, take charge, be a leader and put yourself out there - this is the time to let your Light shine! Be proud of yourself and treat yourself with the dignity and respect that you want to receive from others. Remember, Leo didn't come here to take orders from others or to be one of the gang - they came to be the leader, visionary and inspired. The highest expression of Leo is to be the Light for those who can't find their own for whatever reason, and to empower others. It's a big job, especially to be in integrity as you lead the way, so honor yourself when you are willing to step up and take charge. I so honor and appreciate you!

Creating New Moon Intentions

New Moon Intentions are a concrete way of naming what you want in your life. Because a spark of the Divine is within you, this is the place from which you create. You have the power to manifest your desires and you get what you focus on, so choose your thoughts wisely!
Some intentions take time to manifest and others will show up quickly. Your New Moon intentions are written statements of what you intend to create in the coming Moon cycle.
Creating Intentions

Create your list on the day of the New Moon if possible

Review your list from the previous month and check off anything received

Delete or replace items that are no longer relevant and file the old list

Create your new list and place it on your altar or in a private place

Review your list each morning/evening to keep your intentions conscious
How To Create Intentions

List at least two and no more than ten intentions, so you don't dilute the energy

Start each intention with the words "I create"

Only write what you intend to create (you can't create for someone else)

Write your name in the section labeled "Pay to the order of"

Mercury Retrograde
Sept 6th @ 9:45 pm PDT / Sept 7th @ 12:45 am EDT ~ Sept 29th, '09
 Mercury, planet of communication, information and eduction will go retrograde from late Sun, Sept 6th PDT and early Mon Sept 7th EDT until Sept 29, 2009. Think about what you created (consciously and unconsciously) beginning around Aug 20th, because you'll be spending the rest of Sept retracing those steps and making adjustments.
During Mercury Retrograde all forms of communication are susceptible to disruption and information that is transmitted in any way (by fax, computer, phone, Blackberry, iPhone, FedEx, Facebook, email newsletters, Twitter, verbally) will be at the mercy of Mercury Retrograde. This can manifest as lost information, miscommunication misunderstandings, contracts that don't stick, lost or delayed mail, equipment malfunctions, and snafus in general.

The guidance to prepare for Mercury retrograde is to back up your info, make copies of important documents, sign contacts, send important emails, finalize instructions and if you have planned to begin anything new, take an action before the retrograde goes into effect. And please don't make any major purchases during Mercury Retrograde (especially electronic equipment or appliances), as it's common for something to be wrong with either the item or the transaction. Also, Mercury rules ground transportation so be sure your vehicle is in good working order and double-check travel plans and directions.
Please understand that Mercury Retrograde is not merely an inconvenience in your usual way of operating in daily life. There are astrological energies, Mercury Retrograde being one of them, that are meant to shift your attention away from pursuing new frontiers in the external world to bring you within to focus on contemplating, clearing, planning, rectifying, amending, completing and slowing down long enough to get clear about your intentions - where you're going, what you're doing and how you want to direct your energy.

During Mercury Retrograde the guidance is to do all the "re" activities - review, revise, redo, revisit, reorganize and work on projects already in process. This is the time to complete anything you've left undone and a good time to look for lost or misplaced information or objects, as things often turn up during Mercury retrograde. This is a wonderful energy for reviewing your goals, acknowledging your accomplishments and for meditation, reflection and introspection. What are your dreams and your visions for your life?

Another fabulous use of this retrograde energy is to get your financial house in order. Review your budget if you have one and if you don't, make one so that you are aware of where your money is coming from and going. Make conscious decisions about how you want to live - do you need to downsize and release material items that are no longer useful in your life? This is a perfect time to lighten your load and release!

Mercury Retrograde can be a blessing imposed by the Universe when you have to slow down, check in with yourself, reprioritize your life and get quiet - so you can get clarity and then go with the flow. Don't fight it and try to swim upstream - rather, focus on being in the flow.
