Solar Eclipse/New Moon in Cancer

 Greetings!
We will experience a Solar Eclipse/New Moon in Cancer on Tuesday, July 21st and this one is "supercharged" due to its close position to the earth. The way it will impact you personally depends on where it lands and how it connects with the planets in your chart. Watch for major new beginnings or stories that open around the Eclipse - whatever shows up will likely be life-changing!
The focus is on your needs, as well as issues around security, home and family. Because it's the 2nd New Moon in Cancer, you have the opportunity to go even deeper into your feelings, needs and unconscious issues.
Pluto (planet of transformation) is in the picture, pushing you to move forward and finally release the blocks, patterns, and relationships that are no longer relevant so that you can create a life that nurtures you. What needs to go? Who and what do you want in your life? The clearer you are, the greater your power to create it.
Uranus, (liberation/your authentic self), is connecting with the New Moon, providing extraordinary energy to manifest changes that are in alignment with your authentic self. This is a gift, so please take advantage of this cosmic support and know that if you don't make the changes they may be made for you!
If change is imposed upon you externally, know that it is for your highest good - sometimes it's an outpicturing of what you really want but are afraid to act upon. If unexpected changes occur, set your intention to practice curiosity and contemplation rather than judgment (good/bad, right/wrong) - it's much more spacious energetically and when you choose a higher vibration, it manifests as empowerment.
You are the creator of your experience, so in preparation for your New Moon intentions, really think about what you want in your life. You can create a life that nurtures, delights and allows you to express your gifts to the world in a joyful way. You get to decide what that means for you, so tap into your deepest self and be courageous in visioning your highest good!
Because this New Moon falls at the very end of Cancer, the next day (Wed, July 22nd) the Sun enters the fiery sign of Leo. Leo loves being the leader and center-stage, so it's prime time for creativity and self-expression. Don't be shy - where can you step up and put yourself out there, front and center?

Solar Eclipse/New Moon in Cancer on July 21, '09

We have a Solar Eclipse and our second New Moon in Cancer on Tuesday, July 21st. The New Moon is the time for new beginnings, so take action directed toward what you want to increase, create or develop in your life.
The New Moon is in the ultra-sensitive sign of Cancer, which rules your emotional self, your needs and how you get them met, your home (your nest), feelings of vulnerability, emotional safety and security, family, food, tradition, connection, nurturing and being nurtured.
Are you neglecting your emotional needs for giving and/or receiving? Is there an imbalance on one side or the other (more giving than receiving)? How can you take better care of yourself? Do you know what your needs are - in order to feel safe, to feel happy, to feel fulfilled, to feel loved, to feel valued? Cancer is the sign of the mother and it's a spiritual practice to "mother" yourself in a loving way.
If you have fears that are limiting your life, now is the time to take action to heal and integrate the beliefs that are holding you hostage. It will be such a relief to drop the baggage you've been carrying and there are a variety of ways to access and release unconscious thoughts that are running you. Ask a trusted advisor for guidance around this issue.

Here's a litmus test to tell whether or not you are in the right place or with the right people for you: does your energy feel expanded or do you feel contracted, like you have to pull your energy in to function? When you are in an environment that's nurturing for you or with people who are your "tribe" everything will feel easy. It is that simple, so experiment and see if this approach works for you. And by the way, you don't have to know why, only whether it's a "yes" or a "no." You can find out why later.

Self-care is a priority - especially for mothers, caregivers, and those in helping professions who spend much of their energy caring for others. This is a wonderful time to take actions to pamper your innermost self, whether it's having a massage, connecting with a family member or an old friend, creating a beautiful space in your home, expressing your feelings to a loved one, having a favorite food, or whatever feels nurturing for you. The concept of the "inner child" is associated with Cancer, so is there something you loved to do as a child that you've stopped doing? Are you still playful? What makes you feel warm and loved? Are you willing to allow that into your life? Are you too busy to take time out for yourself?

Cancer is a highly intuitive sign, so practice tuning into the still, small voice within to guide you as you create your New Moon Intentions for this month. Ask yourself, "What does my Spirit want?" And please remember that messages from Spirit are never fear-based, so be discerning when receiving inner guidance to make sure the information you are receiving is coming from Divine Love and not from ego, which utilizes fear and lack to "protect" you. Drop into your heart and quiet your mind. Take a slow, deep breath into your belly and know that there is peace within.
Sensitivity and vulnerability are highly underrated in our western culture, but they are absolutely necessary for our wholeness and personal fulfillment as human beings. So on this New Moon, treat yourself lovingly and honor your feelings. Commit to nurturing your Self so that you can live an empowered life and be who you came here to be.

Creating New Moon Intentions

New Moon Intentions are a concrete way of creating what you want. Some may take time to manifest and others will show up quickly. Your intentions are written statements of what you intend to create in the coming Moon cycle.
Creating Intentions

Create your list within the first eight hours of the New Moon if possible

Review your list from the previous month and check off anything received
-
Delete or replace items that are no longer relevant and file the old list
-
Write your new list and place it on your altar or in a private place
How To Create Intentions
-
List at least two and no more than ten intentions, so you don't dilute the energy
-
Start each intention with the words "I create"
-
Only write what you intend to create (you can't create for someone else)
New Moon Abundance Check

During the first eight hours of the New Moon write a check to yourself

Write your name in the section labeled "Pay to the order of"

Write "Paid in Full" in both the amount sections

Sign the check with the words, "Law of Abundance"

Place the check on your altar or put it in a special place and prepare to receive!

The Eclipse Period - Summer '09

Emotions run high around eclipses and you can expect the unexpected as well as fated events, so be prepared to be flexible. Eclipses can either clear huge obstacles or manifest potential challenges and things usually happen quickly.
If you're confronted with an unexpected situation or event, take a moment to assess where you are and let the dust settle, if possible. There's a saying, "Don't just do something, sit there!" Use that guidance when anxiety triggers you to act prematurely or reactively, which doesn't serve your highest good. And please don't judge events that happen around an Eclipse as "good" or "bad" because you don't know what the big picture is and know that more will be revealed.
Here is general info about Eclipses so that you'll recognize the ways they can manifest and how you can work with the energy.
* The energy lasts for about six weeks - you feel it two weeks before the 1st Eclipse (in this case, Lunar) and two weeks between the Eclipses, and then two weeks after the last Eclipse (in this case again, Lunar)
* In your chart, you'll feel the anxiety and experience the Eclipse effects most intensely in the house that's ruled by Cancer (for this Solar Eclipse)
* Eclipses have a "Uranian" quality - expect sudden changes, unpredictable events, moments of fate and fated events
* An Eclipse is like - POW! - a jolt, it makes things happen
* Eclipses indicate "unnatural acts" (check the news) - and you may feel unnatural around an Eclipse
* Things may seem out of proportion during an Eclipse
* The story that opened up during the last set of eclipses is in effect until the next one (the last set was in late Jan/early Feb '09 - what was going on for you then?)
* Themes and issues will be revisited - what has been suppressed or denied in your life for the last five months? Time to address it!
* Eclipses can bring important contacts into your life - or take people out of your life
* Eclipses can "clean things out"
* Solar eclipses are about beginnings (New Moons)
* Lunar eclipses are about endings or the culmination of things (Full Moons)
* People may overreact, be overly emotional, tense, and are often controlling due to feelings of powerlessness
* On the day of an eclipse you are "in the dark," so relax into "easy does it" mode as much as possible
My guidance during this time is to slow down, breathe consciously and be extra mindful, stay as flexible as possible, and for you overachievers - take twice as much time to do half as many things!
