 Greetings!
Welcome to one of the most fertile times of the year! Venus turned direct a week ago on Friday, April 17th after being retrograde for six weeks. This is the time to take actions that have been on hold during that period, like making major purchases, commitments, signing contracts and such. You want to act now because Mercury (planet of communication) will go retrograde in less than two weeks and then various activities will be on hold again until June (see Mercury Retrograde Alert below).
Venus and Mars are together in Aries making them hot to trot, so you may be ready to jump into new activities and adventures. However, Pluto is squaring this duo so whatever needs correction can appear as a challenge to inform you that something is out of alignment. Because Pluto rules what's hidden, you may be surprised or caught off-guard by what comes up but whatever happens, avoid engaging in power struggles and drama. Instead, look for what needs clearing - is there something that you need to let go of?
If you encounter an unexpected challenge your best bet is to take a step back, center yourself and assess the situation. Creating space and connecting to your Higher Self when seeking guidance/direction is the antidote for participating in drama (another Pluto manifestation). A tip for dealing with relationship issues is to "take the sail out of their wind" in order to diffuse emotional reactivity.
The beautiful Taurus energy that we're in now rules physical comfort, pleasure, sensuality, self-worth, money and the material world. Love yourself and give yourself permission to be pampered - enjoy feeling good, allowing yourself to receive, appreciating the gifts in your life and your loved ones.
Pluto is making a harmonious aspect to the Sun and Moon, which gives an extra boost to actualizing your dreams and visions, so don't forget to do your New Moon Intentions and be prepared to take actions over the next 10 days. New Moon in Taurus ~ April 24th

On Friday, April 24th we have a New Moon in the earthy, sensual, fertile sign of Taurus. The New Moon is the time for new beginnings - to take action directed toward what you want to increase, create or call into your life. This is the natural time to begin cycles and undertake challenges, as you are supported by the Lunar energy that rules the tides of the ocean.
Taurus is the sign that rules values - what you value and how you value yourself, so check in and see if you're treating yourself as the valuable, precious being that you are. Do you honor yourself - does the way you treat yourself indicate that? I hope so.

Venus, the ruler of Taurus, just went direct on April 17th and while it was retrograde you were asked to review financial issues and your consciousness around money, prosperity and abundance. If you still find yourself overspending, trying to fill a void by acquiring more, living with a belief in lack or fear regarding money, this is the time to take action to rectify whatever is out of balance in your life relating to money.

Are you a good receiver? Can you accept compliments joyfully without deflecting or complimenting the other person back? Do you ask for help? Are you uncomfortable if someone makes a fuss over you, so you stop them? If the answer is "yes" to any of these questions, then receiving may be a spiritual practice for you. Watch yourself and notice if you push things away - materially or energetically - by your discomfort with receiving. If so, practice allowing gifts in, whether they're compliments, gifts, assistance or small gestures. You can't receive money or love if you can't receive! Let people love you by receiving!

New Moon in Taurus - April 24, '09

New Moon Intentions are a concrete way of calling what you want into your life. Some of your desires will take time to manifest, others will come quickly. Your intentions are written statements of what you want to manifest for the coming Moon cycle.
Creating Your Intentions/Wishes
- Create your list within the first eight hours of the New Moon if possible
- Review your list from the previous month and check off items that were received
- Delete items that no longer support you or feel important
- File the old list and begin the new list on a fresh sheet of paper
- Write your list and place it on your altar or keep it in a private place
How To Write Your Intentions/Wishes
- List at least two and no more than ten, so as not to scatter the energy
- Start each desire with the words "I ask and allow" (ask is Yang and allow is Yin) You are stating that you know everything is available to you when you are open to receiving it
- Only write your desires - you can't wish for something to happen to or for someone else
New Moon Abundance Check
- During the first eight hours of the New Moon write a check to yourself
- Write your name in the section labeled "Pay to the order of"
- Write "Paid in Full" in both the amount sections
- Sign the check with the words, "Law of Abundance"
Place the check on your altar or put it in a special place and ask and allow that you receive!

Mercury Retrograde Alert

Mercury, planet of communication, information and eduction is about to go retrograde from late Wed, May 6th PT and early Thurs May 7th ET until May 30th 2009, going back over what was happening around April 23rd. Pay attention to what you're creating now (consciously and unconsciously) because you'll be going back over this in the coming month to review, revise and revamp whatever's not working.
I strongly recommend that you prepare for Mercury Retrograde and that's why I'm giving you the "heads up" now. This is the time to take care of business or to begin anything that you're planning to initiate if you possibly can. All you have to do is take one small action to start a new project before the retrograde begins. Even better, take action by May 4th if you can, as Mercury will be slowing down which slows down the flow of activity.
When Mercury goes retrograde, pursuing new business or initiating new activities is ill-advised unless you've taken an action prior to the retrograde. During Mercury Retrograde all forms of communication are susceptible to disruption so information that is transmitted in any way (by fax, computer, phone, Blackberry, iPhone, FedEx, verbally) will be at the mercy of Mercury Retrograde. This can manifest as lost information, miscommunication misunderstandings, contracts that don't stick, lost or delayed mail, equipment malfunctions, and snafus in general.
The guidance to prepare for Mercury retrograde is to back up your info, make copies of important documents, sign contacts, send important emails, finalize instructions and if you have planned to begin anything new, take an action before the retrograde goes into effect. And please don't make any major purchases during Mercury retrograde (especially electronic equipment or appliances), as it's common for something to be wrong with either the item or the transaction. Also, Mercury rules ground transportation so be sure your vehicle is in good working order and double-check travel plans and directions.
When we get closer to Mercury Retrograde I will give you suggetions about how to work with this energy to maximize its usefulness in your life. It is so much easier to be "in the flow" when you are aligned with the cycles of the Universe!
