 Greetings!
Happy New Year! This is the astrological New Year - the ultimate new beginning - a time of rebirth and renewal when the energies of the Universe support creation and action. What is your vision for your life this year? The clearer you are, the greater the possibility is for manifesting your dreams!
You may be ready for action, but remember that Venus (money, relationships, values) is still retrograde so proceed with consciousness. Please read the Venus Retrograde article as a reminder of how this retrograde can affect your life and pay attention - glittery, glamorous, "too-good-to-be-true" opportunities can lead you astray should you go unconscious.
Pluto, planet of power, upheaval and transformation is active for the next few weeks so don't be surprised if you encounter power struggles or experience manipulation and/or upheaval in some part of your life. If you experience challenges, impeccable self-care is called for. Remember, it's your job to take care of yourself!
You will benefit by moving more slowly these days, thereby allowing you to adjust your perspective as you receive additional information. Creating space is good for staying grounded and relieving stress. Actions motivated by anxiety (needing an answer/resolution right now) do not come from your center, or authentic Self. Please do not disempower yourself by engaging in control issues or taking premature actions. Assess your position and be clear before you act. Hold your vision as you move forward deliberately, with consciousness, and be willing to step into your power.

New Moon in Aries ~ March 26th

On Thursday, March 26th we have a New Moon in the fiery, assertive sign of Aries. The New Moon is the time for new beginnings - to take action directed toward what you want to increase, create or call into your life. This is the natural time to begin cycles and undertake challenges, as you are supported by the Lunar energy that rules the tides of the ocean.
This New Moon falls in the sign of Aries and if any sign loves to take action, this is the one! Aries is the warrior, the maverick, the pioneer, the courageous, risk-taking, independent spirit (who can be impulsive and impatient, so be mindful of that). This is the time to step up, take action and be a spiritual warrior in your own life. In which part of your life do you need to be courageous and do something? What is no longer working that needs to change? What do you know you need to do and keep avoiding? The Universe supports your efforts now, so make use of this tremendous energy and be proactive!

There is a caveat on this New Moon because Venus is still retrograde, which can affect your judgment regarding values. You should not make a major purchase or commitment during this retrograde period if you can help it, even it if is the New Moon/New Year. Instead, this is the perfect time to get crystal clear about what you want to call into your life and prepare for creating/receiving it.
Create a vision board that contains pictures, art, words, objects that represent the vision you have for the life of your dreams. Dream big - what makes your heart sing? What does your dream life look like? Are you really ready to receive what you long for? In order to manifest your dream you must hold the vision with passion and commitment, knowing that this is for you. Put your vision board in a location that you will see every day to keep the feelings alive and do your New Moon intentions to go along with it!

You can expect clearing and/or upheaval in some part of your life because Pluto (transformation/power) is squaring the Sun (ego), Moon (needs), Mercury (communication) and Venus (relationships/money). You may be involved in intense discussions, discover hidden motives, encounter relationship issues, physical/emotional depletion, or money issues. Whatever has been repressed or hidden can be brought to the surface, ultimately for healing (remember that!).
You are being challenged to let go of false beliefs and remember the truth of who you are and what you came here to do - and to have the courage to move forward. Who you think you are will shift as old foundations crumble and you open to a deeper spiritual center within. In order for this to happen you must be willing to surrender, again and again, allowing new parts of your Self to emerge. Watch for the cues (where the struggle is) about what you need to let go of. It can be material things, patterns of behavior, roles and responsibilities, or whatever isn't working. And you may discover hidden talents that you never knew you had!

Regardless of how any given scenario may appear, know that the Universe is providing tremendous support for your evolution and that it only takes away that which is ultimately blocking you from achieving your highest path and purpose. When things are falling apart it can be scary and it's important to remember that you are being taken care of, even when you may question that based on outside appearances.

New Moon in Aries - March 26, '09

New Moon Intentions are a concrete way of calling what you want into your life. Some of your desires will take time to manifest, others will come quickly. Your intentions are written statements of what you want to manifest for the coming Moon cycle.
Creating Your Intentions/Wishes
- Create your list within the first eight hours of the New Moon if possible
- Review your list from the previous month and check off items that were received
- Delete items that no longer support you or feel important
- File the old list and begin the new list on a fresh sheet of paper
- Write your list and place it on your altar or keep it in a private place
How To Write Your Intentions/Wishes
- List at least two and no more than ten, so as not to scatter the energy
- Start each desire with the words "I ask and allow" (ask is Yang and allow is Yin) You are stating that you know everything is available to you when you are open to receiving it
- Only write your desires - you can't wish for something to happen to or for someone else
New Moon Abundance Check
- During the first eight hours of the New Moon write a check to yourself
- Write your name in the section labeled "Pay to the order of"
- Write "Paid in Full" in both the amount sections
- Sign the check with the words, "Law of Abundance"
Place the check on your altar or put it in a special place and ask and allow that you receive!

Venus Retrograde March 6 ~ April 17, '09
 On Friday, March 6th Venus will go retrograde (appear to move backwards through the heavens) for about six weeks. Venus rules love, money, creativity, relationships, values (what you value and how you value yourself), aesthetics, your personal style, and what makes life worth living.
During a retrograde you are asked to do the "re" activities - review, revise, revisit, remodel, regroup, redo, and stick with things already in process. The main areas of attention with Venus are love, relationships and money, although revamping your personal style can create some issues if you make significant changes/investments and then change your mind when Venus goes direct! No matter how passionate you feel in the moment during Venus retrograde, if you make a choice that is out of character for you it may only be temporary.
Venus is in the sign of Aries for most of this retrograde which is a dynamic, assertive, driven, go-getter energy that is also very passionate and sexual. This is not the sign that likes to contemplate choices and take it's time. We're talking direct - the shortest distance from point A to point B, so you may be extra challenged to curb your impulses. Venus in Aries likes to pursue what they want and they LOVE the chase! Once they reach their goal they're not always so interested, so be mindful when deciding to act on impulse.

Venus rules money. On a practical level, you may experience delays in receiving payments or resources and this is generally not a good time to make investments or launch a business as you may over- or under-estimate the value of the service or product you're buying or selling. Financial activities that are low-risk are fine, but major spending is ill-advised during this time (again, you may over-value the product or your need for it). It is a good time for buying second-hand, especially if you are the type that knows the value of something that the seller may have under-valued. Then you can get a great deal!

Revising your approach to financial matters is in alignment with this retrograde. What needs revision or healing regarding your beliefs about money, receiving, and what you are worth? You may need to upgrade your business systems, i.e., the way you deal with the money you have. What is your money blueprint - do you know how much you can allow yourself to receive? What does money represent to you? What do you value? This is SO worth investigating if you've never thought about it. Oh and by the way, fear of economic insecurity has nothing to do with how much money you have!

In retrograde, Venus can motivate you to indulge in luxury spending that you really can't afford or choose furniture/clothing/a new hairdo/a trip that you're not interested in at all once Venus goes direct - and by then you can't return it or get out of the contract and you are stuck with it. If you're going to make changes let them be baby steps and for heaven's sake, don't redecorate your home or get a tattoo!! If you must indulge yourself during this time, think low-risk and temporary.

Venus retrograde is the perfect time to deal with relationship issues (that are likely to come up) which is really an outpicturing of how you feel about yourself. You only call in those who are in agreement with some part of you (conscious or unconscious). Whatever isn't working for you needs to change and this is a wonderful time to gain awareness of what's out of alignment and to focus on healing/shifting that.
Remember, others will value you to the degree that you value yourself, and your boundaries are indicators of what you will and won't accept. You may finally be ready to love yourself enough to put your foot down and stop tolerating behaviors and relationship dynamics that aren't good for you. If so, hooray for you (both)!! You don't have to continue to do the dance - when one person changes, the dynamic between you changes, so know that you have more power than you may realize!

During Venus retrograde you may find yourself attracted to a dramatically different type of "other" than you would typically go for, and if you're in a relationship you may feel restless and discontent. The guidance is not to make any major moves during the retrograde - don't break up or get engaged/married because when Venus goes direct you may change your mind (or come back to your senses). It can be like waking up from a dream and saying to yourself, "What was I thinking?!!"
If you begin a new relationship during Venus retrograde it is common not to see your new love interest clearly, missing red flags that you would ordinarily notice. If you are in a long-term relationship and suddenly feel restless or discontent, use this time to find out what is really out of alignment for you that makes you seek greener pastures. What needs of yours aren't being met?
Old loves and lovers from the past may suddenly pop up, seemingly out of nowhere, during Venus retrograde. If you're both available it can be fun to reconnect or you may even have a fling, but eventually you will likely remember why you separated in the first place when Venus goes direct! In any event, stay tuned to see if anyone from your past appears in the next six weeks.
This is a good time to review all your relationships and your relationship dynamics to see if there are issues that need attention or conversations you need to have. Do you need to make amends to anyone or are there friends or loved ones you've been out of touch with? This is a perfect time to "re"connect!

This is a wonderful energy for artists who have creative projects in process that need to be finished. And for you artists who don't do creativity for a living, PLEASE give yourself a gift and make your art - it's like oxygen for you and in my humble opinion, it's not optional!
