What's New for March!

Spring is just around the corner, and our thoughts turn to camping and the outdoors once again. This year, perhaps more than any other, we all seem to have an increased appreciation of the simpler things in life. It seems a good time to take stock of what we have rather than what we don’t. For many it is a chance to get off the treadmill and re-learn to appreciate the basics which for so long have been taken for granted.

What's New for March!

Howdy Folks! It has been a few months since our last newsletter, due in no small part to the economic mess that our country and the world are currently in. The sporting goods and outdoor industries have been hit especially hard over the past 12 months, and the medium-term outlook for the larger players in our industry does not look good. Many of us are looking at other markets and opportunities to sell our products, and here at Paha Que’ we are no different.

New Tents

When we first started this company in the late 90s, the choices for large family camping tents were pretty slim. You might find a large dome style tent or a cabin style tent but your choices were pretty limited. Fortunately for the family campers, things have changed in the last 12 years. There are a large variety of family camping tents to choose from. That is a good and bad thing. So many choices can make choosing a tent more difficult.

Celestial Highlights, for March

Let's get out and see what's going on in the sky.

Got an astronomy related question? Ask the navigator. Questions and answers will be posted here next month.

Repair Kit

Ever go on a camping trip and have something break? If you're not prepared ahead of time, it can literally ruin your fun. Every month, we'll be tackling a new repair. Clip them and save them to make a "repair book" you can use for all your future camping trips. Today's tip will also include a do-it-yourself repair kit list. Check back on our monthly newsletter to see how to use each item. Happy Trails!

Fruit Dump Cake

Here's a great desert that is served hot. Perfect for those cool March weekend campouts!

Chef Jason’s World Famous Cedar Smoked Salmon with Compound Butter

This is a fantastic recipe that draws crowds for miles. Cedar is my favorite scent and cooking with it is just out of this world. It’s simple to do, guarantees crowd-pleasing results, and as always, can be done at home or at the campsite. I like to use cedar chips in grilling, but this is a slight variation on using wood chips or saw dust.
