What's New for May

At Paha Qué Wilderness, customer service is king. We strive to offer excellent service and competent advice on gear, repairs, or any other issue that may arise. Lately, we have received calls from many of you concerning our stock-out issues on our ScreenRoom and Cottonwood items. I would like to personally assure you that we are working very hard to resolve material shortage issues, shipping delays, and a whole host of issues that are directly or indirectly related to rising fuel costs. We don’t anticipate this problem to persist however, and we will be fully re-stocked on all items within the next 30-45 days.

Calling All Campers!

Within the next month, a number of us here at Paha Qué Wilderness will be taking another of our famous Ghost-Town trips. In case you are not familiar with these trips, let me explain. At least once a year, we identify a remote area of some historic significance, and we try to get there and camp. This is not always so easy – some of the spots we choose are extremely remote, are accessible only by very old mining roads or by driving on long abandoned railroad grades. Good maps, sturdy vehicles, and a GPS are essential tools on these trips, as is a fair amount of local knowledge.

Take a Newby Camping

Camping season is upon us and it is time to get out and find some adventure.

This season find a friend that has never been camping and take them along with you. Show them what they have been missing for all these years. Every time I take a “Newby” camping I am constantly hearing how much they are enjoying themselves and can’t believe they hadn’t done it sooner.

Celestial Highlights, for May

We're off to the races! Mars, that is. Just about any night you step out and look up, Mars will be in a new spot as it darts its way from Gemini to Cancer. Saturn too! It has finally began its departure from Regulus in Leo not to return until it completes a full orbit. Check back in about 30 years!

Got an astronomy related question? Ask the navigator. Questions and answers will be posted here next month.

Laundry Bag

Today’s topic is the LAUNDRY BAG, a subject we all hate, but definitely NEED! I’ll lay out basics for each gear group to make it a little less painful!

Pork Cutlets in Green Sauce

Green Sauce? Don't worry, it's just a little Herdez salsa and Cilantro. Try it, you'll like it!

Jason’s World Famous Garlic Grilled Potatoes

This has long been one of my favorites and is requested at pretty much every BBQ I host or attend. It's very easy, and there can be limitless variations. The following is one of the basic variations.
