What's New for March

This Saturday we set our clocks an hour ahead – spring-forward as they say. Spring is just around the corner, and we are excited to enjoy some warmer weather and get back out camping! As with every issue of our monthly newsletter, this month we have some great offers for you, our loyal customers.

If you took my advice last month, than perhaps you’ve started to check and clean your gear in preparation for this years camping trips. If you haven’t now is a good time start. As we all know, time flies, and before you know it you’ll be pulling out the maps and packing for your first camp trip. With the longer days soon upon us, it means only one thing- camping season is soon to follow! So check your gear for any needed repairs or missing parts, and call our repair department while there is still time to plan ahead!

Economic State of Mind

Seems like everywhere I turn nowadays all I hear is talk about the slow economy, rising gasoline prices, the upcoming election, and other equally depressing subjects. Seems like the country is in a collective bad mood, with no signs of improving anytime soon! Well I’m not buying it. If you are a lover of the outdoors, than things are just never all that bad.

Gathering wood

Camping is a fun family outing and when the sun goes down; the place everyone hangs out is around the camp fire. Camping would not be the same if you could not have a good fire to sit around and tell stories and cook marshmallows.

Celestial Highlights, for March

The month of March brings a lot of timely surprises.  The change to Daylight Savings Time, and the beginning of Spring.

Did you know that the Christian observance of Easter is based on an astronomical calendar? Easter is celebrated on the first Sunday, following the first full Moon, following the Spring Equinox. This year's Easter falls particularly early on the 23rd. Don't expect it to happen this early for another 220 years!

Got an astronomy related question? Ask the navigator. Questions and answers will be posted here next month.
