Mission to Munich, Germany - Uzi's Report Back
November 9th - 70th Anniversary of Kristallnacht Nov. 2008
Greetings!

My Oma's (Granny) name was Herta Wolf.  She was half Jewish, but in her eyes the more important fact was, that she was several generations German. My Oma was a "Schauspielerin" - a Stage Actress, in Berlin, the Cultural Centre of Europe in the Twenties & Thirties of the last century. In 1923 my late father, Joseph, was born there too. My grandparents were Adam Lewite (like "Levite" in English) - a Jewish Doctor of Chemistry and an accomplished Pianist, and Herta Wolf - an actress. And yes, I am a Levite by birth.

This is not the right venue to describe all the heartbreaks and sacrifices involved in my family's sudden, life-saving uprooting from Germany. Nor the unbearable pain resulting from the loss of the entire Wolf family. The end is that the Lewite family ended up in (then) British Palestine, in 1933. My father grew up here from the age of ten; I and my sister were born here, and so was my own daughter, Michal.

The properly defined objective of the tour was to Bless Munich and Germany in general, with Prayer, Praises and Worship coming specifically from Israel. The timing of the group's visit was meant to coincide with November the 9th 2008, the 70th Anniversary of the Nazi Kristallnacht - "The night of the Broken Glass", and for all intents and purposes - the beginning of the Shoah, the Holocaust.

I accepted Arni & Yonit Klein's kind invitation to join them and the Israeli group on this mission. But having grown up in a family with split emotions, with near admiration to the German language and culture on one hand, and with terrible pain and betrayal of loss on the other - my declared intentions to "go and bless Germany" came from my focused mind, rather than from my heart. This is not the way God leads us: He wants EVERYTHING WE DO TO BE A RESULT OF A HEART ISSUE, not merely the outworking of a RATIONAL, mind-driven obligation! God is NOT interested in a mind-driven obligation to both BLESS & FORGIVE: He Himself did it for me from His heart, and with all of it!  Another reason for accepting the invitation was to try and in some way, as a believer, "to close a cycle" in my relationship with Germany.

I thank God, that in Munich, on top of a Bell Tower of a Lutheran Church there, when we as an Israeli group were blessing Munich - God, by His grace, "sent an elevator", and my motivation for blessing Germany was shifted down from my head, to my heart. Hallelujah !!

Our beautiful group from Israel comprised of 21 people. In my eyes this is the group of "Magnificent Seven Times Three"!  We had only three days in which to perform sixteen official activities, which together made up the Ministry to Germany:  it was very very intense - yet also incredibly rewarding!

081106 Welcome to MunichAs you may remember, in our Prayer Request sent before going to Germany, we explained that the tour was as a result of a vision given by the Lord 9 months ago to our friend Arni Klein. This vision was for a group of worshippers to go from Israel to Munich on the 70th anniversary of Kristallnacht to bring a blessing to the city. The result was: an invitation from our German Brethren, to come and join them. The declaration of the "Final Solution" - the official, planned, systematic & structured process of annihilating the Jewish People in Europe started with the declaration of the Kristallnacht ("The Night of the Broken Glass") on 9th of November 1938, in Munich.

This vision of Arni's, as it was taking practical shape, resulted in Three, well-defined "Mandates", or Goals & Objectives:

1. "Go to Munich to bring a blessing and to be a Light there..." - without looking to gain anything for ourselves, but to fulfil our calling as a light to the Nations.

2. "Go into this place of death, into Munich, and worship Me there!" - With Songs of Praises and of Worship brought specifically from Israel!

3. "Go and reverse the Curse declared in Munich" - declare over Munich, Bavaria and Germany, Godly Revival and Restoration - instead of Satanic Death and stagnant Darkness. Minister to the Believing Community in Germany, and encourage them to remember - but to move on into doing God's work in Germany, through Grace and Release - until Revival comes there again. In the process - stand with Israel and her Believing Community!

But of course, in addition to following these pointers as a 21-strong group - we also had our own, individual and personal issues to overcome - and we did, I believe!!

One of our Mission's Themes: "There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain..." (Rev. 21:4)

We arrived in Munich late on Thursday, November the 6th. We were welcomed there by a beautiful group of our local hosts, with Posters, Chocolates, hugs, kisses and Hebrew songs!

During our first 6 - 7 hours of our first day in Munich, Friday the 7th, we already had the opportunity to accomplish 75% of our mandates there, and some of us said: "The job is done, and we can go back home now".

We declared blessings, read scriptures and prayed over Munich and Bavaria (Bayern in German) from a tall Bell Tower of a rebuilt Lutheran Church; we Praised & Worshipped God on the Tower and later in the Church hall; we visited Munich's Old Town Hall, from which Joseph Goebbels ignited the Kristallnacht and the "Final Solution". FOR THE FIRST TIME IN ITS HISTORY, this Hall was filled by Jewish-Israeli Music and Praises to God!! We have in Hebrew a cute, little 081107 Gabriel playing Jerusalem of Goldword called "DAVKA". Its real meaning does not have a parallel in other languages, but the closest in English would be "Deliberately".  Our young Israeli brother Gabriel, there, on his violin, played "Jerusalem of Gold" - a moving song of declaration. Even though Hitler & Goebbels tried to get rid of us - The God of Israel brought us back. He brought us back to sing His Praises, which were brought all the way from Jerusalem, the Eternal Capital of the State of Israel, and of the Jewish People all over the world! We indeed "Did a Davka" in Munich, Davka to Satan and to all of his hosts: God granted us both the Authority and the Opportunity to do so! Hallelujah!

During our first day in Munich, while ministering with and to our hosts, it seemed that two portions of scripture became the "main thematic motifs" for the weekend. The first - Revelation 21:1-7, emphasises God's Grace and Restoration of all things:

"REV 21:1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2 I saw the Holy City, the New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."
5 He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!" Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true."
6 He said to me: "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life. 7 He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son." "

It was a good passage for the Believers in both Nations:

For the German Believers, to encourage them to receive God's Grace and Forgiveness, and to move on by being His Partners in bringing His Revival to Germany, while standing with Israel and understanding her role in the process.

To the Israeli-Jewish Believers: to apply God's Grace and Mercy in working with Him in stopping the Jewish Nation's Rejection of Yeshua, while being a Light to the Nations - including the German Nation!

Our Second Theme: "Lift up your heads, O you Gates"
(Psalm 24:8)

The other passage was Psalm 24:6-10. It was used mainly on the St. Matthew's Church Bell-Tower, as a declaration and instruction to Munich's Gates, to lift up their heads, and to welcome and receive THE KING OF GLORY into Munich, Bavaria, and all of Germany:

"PS 24:6 Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, O God of Jacob. Selah
7 Lift up your heads, O you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.
8 Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.
9 Lift up your heads, O you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.
10 Who is he, this King of glory? The LORD Almighty-- he is the King of glory.         Selah"

I thank God, the organizers, and our hosts for granting me the opportunity to take part in this important mission.

Personally, I think it will take me quite sometime, to process the fullness of our mission to Munich, Bavaria and Germany at large.
