Community Conversation
Direction Strong
New Ideas Emerge
On June 14, many of you joined our Community Conversation to help plan the CDP's direction for the next 20 years. We spent a wonderful afternoon talking about the work of the CDP - past, present and future. One hundred guests from all sectors of our community turned out at the Back Nine Cafe at the Captain's Golf Course in Brewster for this important phase of our development as an organization.
Senator Dan Wolf led a panel discussion about the history and current state of the CDC movement. Everyone in the room had a chance to participate. The Community Conversation identified many priorities, including a continued focus on affordable housing, business development, and sustaining our fragile environment. Among the new ideas that emerged were the importance of becoming part of the Cape-wide broadband network, increasing opportunities for a young workforce, and promoting renewable energy generation.
Thank you to everyone who spent time with us.

Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank Goes Green
Since 2010 Cape Cod Five has been committed to going green. Not only is the Bank greening their buildings, but they also encourage their vendors to join them in a collaborative effort to sustain our community. "The greater the impact, the greater the excitement," says Will Rhymer, Branch Manager of Wellfleet, the most recent branch to become verified. "Everyone is enthusiastic about the ongoing greening of their workplace. They apply their knowledge to their homes as well." The Bank's goal is to have all 14 branches, plus their operations buildings become green verified in the near future. Learn more about how your business can become verified as Cape & Islands Green.
