Greetings!
Dave Brubeck's classic "Take Five" is one of those songs that stays in your head for hours once it gets in there, so I'm looking forward to hearing it in person when the jazz great is in town on December 4th. Check out the details below - as well as other recent highlights here at New Harbor Group.
Happy Thanksgiving,

Cool and Suave and Holy
|
Recently, someone listening to jazz legend Dave Brubeck at a NYC concert Tweeted that it made them feel "cool and suave." On December 6th, Brubeck will be at the Kennedy Center to receive Kennedy Center Honors for a career that goes back decades. But two nights before that, on Friday December 4th, Brubeck will be playing an intimate concert for several hundred lucky jazz fans at Immaculate Conception Church, right here in Cranston. In fact, there are still some tickets left (click here) for the night of jazz and spiritual music. Check it out, because it's not every day you can hit the trifecta of "cool," "suave" and holy.

How it Should Work
|
Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island is home to one of only three Primary Stroke Centers in the region, and its acute stroke rehabilitation program is considered one of the best in the nation. Memorial is also a teaching affiliate of the Alpert Medical School at Brown University. But despite these strong credentials, the hospital's stroke program was underutilized, quietly tucked away on Memorial's community hospital campus. To help spread the word, we worked with Memorial's stroke team to develop a PR and advertising campaign highlighting the state-of-the-art care, along with the personal touch the hospital is known for. The result? In just one month Memorial's Stroke Center saw a 35% increase in patients.

Nice Ink!
|
New Harbor clients have been very busy recently, and getting a lot of good ink - both real and electronic.
The Boy Scouts collected 155 tons (!) of food for the R.I. Community Food Bank in this year's Scouting for Food drive. We worked hard to get the word out all over the place - radio, TV, print and social media.
- Working with the able staffs in the offices of Sen. Reed and Gov. Carcieri, we shined the spotlight on the successful effort to bring the NOAA exploration ship Okeanos to the Port of Davisville - a particularly deft piece of work by Sen. Reed down in D.C. Here's to another piece of the puzzle down at Quonset, where 8,800 people are working at 164 companies - including the 5th largest auto importer in North America - every day.
- The new collaboration between Memorial Hospital of R.I. and Mass.-based Partners Healthcare got off to a good start. The new arrangement with Partners - which includes world-renowned Brigham and Women's and Mass General Hospitals - can only work to the advantage of Rhode Islanders who need quality health care.
