Our Speaker:
Al Ells, M.C. is an ordained minister and founder-director of Leaders that Last Ministries™, a not-for-profit organization that equips Christian leaders to finish well.   He is a gifted coach, counselor, speaker and leadership consultant.  As a Master Coach, Al has helped many pastors, executives, and denominational leaders find and fulfill their destiny in Christ.

Becoming A Transformational Leader

While churches are in the transformation business, the reality is that most local congregations need to be transformed.  They  simply are not having the effect on their communities that God intends. When we think about transforming a local congregation so it can reach its God-given potential, we normally think the starting point is the congregation itself.  However, deep change must happen in the life of the leader(s) before it happens in the church.  As the interior world of the leader is changed, the congregation is transformed.  Al Ells will be leading us in three sessions that are designed to raise your level of leadership.

  • Raising your Transformation Quotient
  • The 'Right Ethics' Empower Board and Senior Leader Transformation
  • Transformative Personal Safeguards: Boundaries, Margins and Burnout

The Rev. Robert W. Fields, 98, of Nappanee, died Wednesday morning, Sept. 12, 2012, at his residence. He was married to Ruth Randall on Aug. 22, 1936, in Springfield, Ohio. She preceded him in death May 15, 2003.

The Rev. Fields was a graduate of Bellefontaine High School and attended Anderson Universtiy. He was ordained as a minister of the Church of God in 1948. The Rev. and Mrs. Fields served in Eaton, Nappanee, LaGrange, Lafayette and Olive Bethel Churches. He retired and moved back to Nappanee in 1984, where he continued to be active in the Nappanee First Church of God. He was a member of the Nappanee Ministerial Association and the North Central Indiana Church of God Ministers.

For many years, he was honored to play taps for the Nappanee American Legion for military funerals. He also enjoyed playing trumpet and trombone for the church. He always felt his music was a part of his ministry.

Surviving are sons Ronald W. (Connie) Fields of Syracuse and James L. (Beverly) Fields of Interlachen, Fla.; grandchildren R. Eric Fields, H. Tyrone Fields, Kim Fields and Nathaniel Fields; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be given to the First Church of God.
