Looking In The Mirror
by Dr. Doug Talley
While at the recent Healthy Growing Churches Annual Gathering, I (along with Randy Spence and Greg Wiens) had the opportunity to have dinner with Rev. Leith Anderson (Pastor Emeritus of Wooddale Church in Minnesota, President of the National Association of Evangelicals, and noted church consultant). About 15 years ago Rev. Anderson served as the consultant to the Church of God on a national level. He understands our history, our DNA, our culture, and our issues pretty well. My objective for the dinner was to understand what Rev. Anderson saw as core challenges we face as a tribe. Rev. Anderson was very gracious in sharing his thoughts with us.
I've condensed the conversation into three key observations. I've put the following observations in my own words.

A story from the March 2nd Beloved weekend held at Madison Park for high school & college aged girls.
by Marsha Reeder
As girls heard and received the redemption/Beloved stories, they had a chance to respond. Every girl responded differently. Some girls chose the journaling stations and journaled what God was saying to them, some girls knelt at their chair, some girls knelt at the kneeling benches with a prayer counselor and some girls physically laid at the cross...powerful! Regardless of their type of response, girls were breaking the silence of the enemy's voice and scheme in their life and were receiving the healing power of the blood of Jesus which covers a multitude of sins! The room was sweet and the spirit was surreal...freedom!!!!
When we believe God loves us and we receive His love we step with freedom and courage to live the life He intended for us all along!!!
