Favorite Tech Tools for Ministry
by Jeff Matas
For good or bad, technology has changed the way we do ministry. I'm old enough to remember when:
- The primary way sermons were written was by typewriter (via a secretary in most cases) or simply by hand
- Most sermon research was done through a massive physical library of reference books and commentaries
- If you wanted to communicate to someone, you had three options: the phone, a letter or a visit
- News of current events came through the daily newspaper or by watching the evening news on NBC, CBS or ABC
- Calendars were physical paper calendars that hung on a wall, laid on a desk or were carried with you
Times have changed....

With the support of the Lilly Endowment, Indiana Ministries has assembled a group of Christian professionals and the financial support to help both pastors and their congregations discover financial freedom in these difficult times.
Now there is help for both pastors and congregations as they strive to find financial freedom. There are some clear "Best Practices" that can help pastors and congregations to live out God's plans for their financial health.
The Financial Freedom Fund has been made possible by a generous grant from the Lilly Religious Endowment. It provides financial assistance and professional consultants to pastors and congregations in three areas:
- Pensions
- Educational Debt
- Health care reimbursement arrangements
Guidelines for participation in one or all of these programs will be shared at the Best Practices for Pastor and Congregational Financial Health Conference on March 24, 2012. Thus far, the FFF has awarded 39 grants totaling almost $87,000 in assistance!
For More Information on the Best Practices Conference on March 24th, please download the below letter and registration form.
