Our Speaker:
Rev. Steve Chiles is the Senior Pastor at the Shartel Church of God in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He has served in ministry now for 30 years as a pastor and also as a Church Consultant and Church Health Coach. Steve is a highly sought after speaker and conference leader for church growth and leadership development workshops, revivals and campmeetings. He is a graduate of Mid-America Christian University. He is a dynamic communicator with a gifted ability to inspire and challenge. He is passionate about God's ability to grow churches and raise up leaders for ministry. He is also a writer with several published articles for Christian magazines and publications.

| Look what God Has Done!
101 baptized at church's outdoor service County Line Church of God in Auburn, Indiana had an amazing outdoor service on Sunday, August 28. "It was one of those days a pastor dreams of. I can't explain that away other than God did it," said Pastor Stuart Kruse of County Line Church of God.

Appreciation or Obligation?

So, what crosses your mind when you hear the phrase, "Pastors' Appreciation Month?" While it really is a noble idea, it is striking that it stirs up so many mixed emotions in congregations and clergy alike. There is seldom a church that doesn't want to express appreciation to their pastor, and it would be difficult to find a pastor who didn't want to be appreciated. Yet, the unsettledness remains.
