Dear Pastor and Board,
Indiana Ministries wants to express appreciation for your church's financial support during the first six months of 2011. We know these are economically challenging times for churches and communities. We appreciate Indiana Ministries being a financial priority for your church.
Next month I begin my sixth year in state ministry and this fall I begin my third year at Indiana Ministries. Even though I was involved in Indiana Ministries as a pastor for 26 years, being in my current assignment as Executive State Pastor has made me aware of the extensive and varied ministry that we offer. For example, as I write this letter I have just concluded a phone call with a pastor who is dealing with a very difficult situation that involves someone in a leadership position in the church, as well as a leadership position in the community. He needed someone to help him figure out next steps. I'm glad that Indiana Ministries could help. Your support makes that possible, as well as the many other ministries we engage in.
As of the end of June, Indiana Ministries is $41,750 below anticipated budget giving from churches and has received $21,885 less in church giving through the first six months of this year as compared with the same period last year. We are seeking to steward the dollars you send as God-honoring as possible.
Pastor or Board chair, could you check with your treasurer/bookkeeper to confirm that your giving through the first six months is on track with the amount designated in your church budget for Indiana Ministries? In the last few weeks we have been contacted by several churches who discovered that they were behind in their Indiana Ministries giving. A couple of churches changed their financial software several months ago but just discovered that giving to Indiana Ministries was omitted when the software transfer was made. Another church had a change in treasurer/bookkeeper and the new one simply missed for multiple months the church's contributions to Indiana Ministries. I would appreciate you checking to see if your church is up-to-date in its giving.
God continues to provide many opportunities for Indiana Ministries to assist local congregations in Kingdom work. If you need us or if we can assist you in any way, please do not hesitate to contact us. The staff of Jeff Matas, Jenene Lighty, Cassandra Michel, Cindy Talley and myself are here to serve. Also, Carl Addison is available to assist as the Director of the Financial Freedom Fund and SHAPE.
Blessings,

Dr. Doug Talley
Executive State Pastor
